Today I am also Sahrawi
Today we are Nayem Elgarhi, we are the mother weeping for her son. Today we are each of the dead, each person battered in the camp of Gdeim Izik. Today we are each of the missing, each of the violated, each of those persecuted for speaking out. Today we are one of the forgotten. Today we also belong to the Saharawi people.

Myanmar elections dismissed by insiders and outsiders as ‘sham’
Western governments have called Myanmar elections November 7, 2010, a “missed opportunity” according to press agencies AFP and Al Jazeera as Myanmar’s military government set itself up to win the country’s first elections in 20 years, with the ruling generals voting themselves back into power, amid opposition claims of intimidation and poll irregularities.
The Spanish/English version of the book “Parks of Study and Reflection” is presented in Santiago Book Fair.
The Hungarian-German, French-Italian, Portuguese-English versions of the book were not presented at this time as the Camilo Mori room became overcrowded with an audience almost exclusively Chilean. The project coordinators, G. Tomas Hirsch and Rafael A. Edwards explained the meaning of the book and the difficulties overcome in order to publish it.

Jewish Guardians of the City
* The Guardians of the City are Orthodox Jews – they wear those distinctive black hats, beards and curling side locks – who (like me) participated in the Tehran conference on Gaza, March, 2009. These Jews want an end to the present Israeli state – the stance of Iran as so widely disseminated in the media. They oppose the Zionists as they are non-believers.*
Art, the artist and inspiration
We are publishing here the complete paper presented by Professor Marina Fernandez to the Second International Symposium organised by the World Centre for Humanist Studies in the different virtually interlinked Parks of Study and Reflection. Marina Fernandez gave her presentation at Punta de Vacas Park of Study and Reflection in the thematic group of Art and Culture.
U.S. Election note: Throwing the bums out
The recent U.S. mid-term elections followed a familiar mechanic; deep discontent driven by real problems like unemployment drove a voter “revolt” against incumbents (mostly Democratic) handing control of the House of Representatives to the Republicans. This type of voter sentiment is often summed up in the phrase “throw the bums out.”
