A caravan of awareness for peace and nonviolence in Mauritania (Nouakchott)
On 25 September a caravan of awareness on peace and nonviolence is being launched, towards Nouakchott,
capital of Mauritania, by the Mauritanian Association for a World Without Wars and Violence in
collaboration with the Organization for African Integration (OAI). This action will last a week reaching
completion with a march for nonviolence on 2 October this year.
First anniversary of the passing on of Silo
It is a year now that Silo left us in his physical body, bequeathing us and everyone a valuable message of the way of active non-violence to take mankind into a benign and adventurous yet non-harming future. We give thanks to Silo this day and carry on the good work. We watch as the protagonists of an open future take to the streets.

International push to construct Himalayan Park
A humanist work camp is scheduled to start October 10, 2011, organised in Panauti, Nepal, as the initial efforts to establish Nepal’s Park of Study & Reflection. This is a small town 32km south east of Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. Panauti is renowned for its rich history, cultural activities, artistic buildings and year-round festivals.

How activists can stream live videos with their phones
One of the first posts for this site was about GandhiCam, an application for Blackberry phones that automatically sends any image, that you take to your email or an email address of your choosing. The idea was developed to allow activists to immediately get content off their phones before the police could confiscate them, as had happened during the G20 protests in London.
Daniel Barenboim and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra take Beethoven project to the Far East

Activists and academics seek to preserve native tongues and culture.
Academics and activists in Bolivia and Mexico in July took steps to preserve indigenous languages whose survival is threatened of dying out with more use of Spanish. The Autonomous University of Mexico has launched an audio library of the 300 indigenous languages and dialects spoken in Mexico. The library has 800 audio language samples so far.
