Born in 1960 in England and raised in German-speaking Switzerland, he studied languages and worked in England, France and Italy. He now lives in Montegrino in Northern Italy. He is a member of the Humanist Movement, Fridays for Future and Mountain Wilderness. He is passionate about mountains, specialized in environmental issues and dedicated to the self-production of fruit and vegetables in his spare time.
