The emergence of a new, fairer world economic order is an “unstoppable” process, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday.

The top Russian diplomat made the statement during a year-end interview with the RIA Novosti news agency, where he summed up this year’s results and Russia’s strategic goals, and outlined the main trends for the coming year.

“The transition to a more just world economic order is undoubtedly unstoppable,” Lavrov said, adding that the formation of a multipolar world has already begun.

The whole world is tired of the US dollar, which has become an instrument of influence, a tool to undermine the legitimate competitive positions of countries in different regions and a tool used to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and to bring about regime change, Lavrov said.

Russia will strive to develop relations with the “global majority”, he said.

When asked ourselves about the course of the country’s special military operation, Lavrov reiterated that Moscow will continue to fulfil the goals set from the beginning.
