The New Manhattan Project: A Concert for Nuclear Abolition

With music direction by Sam Sadigursky and Noah Diamond as tour guide, the concert is a journey to discover the nuclear legacy that New York City uniquely claims. Short videos of sites on the Nuclear NYC Map interweave with live performances by Sam Sadigursky, Nathan KociNew York Taiko Aiko KaiMeg Okura and MARK Harmony, a group of young singers from the Marshall Islands whose families were on the frontlines of environmental and cultural devastation caused by 67 atmospheric nuclear tests conducted by the US Government. The concert will highlight the creativity and activism in NYC that fuels the movement for nuclear abolition. Youth Arts New York / Hibakusha Stories, ICAN and NYCAN offer this event as Mexico hosts the 2nd Meeting of States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) at UN Headquarters.
