After the so far unsuccessful initial project to corner, hang and destroy Russia (turning it into the next Ukraine) and after the final transformation of Western Europe into a colony, the US government, for decades now controlled by transnational corporations, is not holding back on its achievements.

There were five main objectives in the war against Russia: total domination of its natural wealth; military control over the territory with access to the northern border of China and the entire Caucasus; by means of media technologies successfully tested in Ukraine, turning the Russians into cannon fodder for the future war with China; reduction, i.e. “optimisation” of the population, according to the demands and interests of the market; and definitive erasure of the historical memory of the Soviet past.

Today, as a plan B, the Middle East is being set on fire from different sides like a haystack. The propaganda argument of the “defence of Israel” is as false as that of the “defence of Ukraine”. The empire needs deluded masses willing to kill and die for its interests, and the collapse of foreign countries and economies to reformat the world for its own ends, seeking to restore its lost and longed-for supremacy.

What is most horrifying is not only the terrible death of hundreds of civilians in a Gaza hospital. Nor are the clumsy excuses of Israeli leaders surprising, for it takes great civil courage and human integrity to admit responsibility for such a thing. Even if it happened ‘by accident’. However, any elementary logic suggests that, in the case of massive shelling of urban neighbourhoods indiscriminately, mass casualties would not be ‘an accident’, but the logical, or rather expected, outcome.

The massive indifference of Israelis and Palestinians to the civilian victims of the “other side” is striking and astonishing. All they seem to care about is the image of their own side and the corresponding losses in the information war. There is not a single letter of lamentation for the dead, who this time are definitely not Hamas members. The victims are an informational occasion, a propaganda tool, biomaterial, part of the demographics of the enemy population, anything but shredded people. Human compassion for the murdered becomes unacceptable and censored, almost as a kind of complicity with the enemy’s propaganda.

The chief engineers of war in the Middle East, a large team of professionals, consisting of the US, Israel, Hamas and many other neighbouring Arab governments and military groups, are identical in their utter disregard for civilian lives turned into ingredients of a sustained hatred of others. Turning entire populations into mobs of aggressive and ruthless fanatics is easier and cheaper than any other political business. It is enough to strip history of all its colours and nuances and cut out of it only everything that helps the task of dehumanising the other and sacralising oneself.

Calling all enemies together “fascists” or calling all critics of Israeli government policy “anti-Semites” reminds me of an old joke: there is a child who hears the word “prostitute” from adults and asks what it is, and is told “it’s a bad woman”. Happy to have learned the new word, the child, who is angry at his grandmother for denying him something, uses the new word: “Grandma, you are a prostitute!”.

Covering up one’s self-interest with mountains of ashes of one’s own people is not only abominable, but also very unintelligent, because it always shows.

The real story, persistently and defiantly denied by official Israel (just like the multiple UN General Assembly resolutions), has become the tragedy of their own people, who really do not understand the reasons for their neighbours’ hatred of them, and all the reciprocal hatred that closes the circle of violence.

Some do not realise that, if their dream of turning Gaza into a Luna Park were to come true, not only would the lives of Israelis not be the safest in the world, but the opposite would be true. This is the only logic of revenge, something deadly and contagious, what we have tried so many centuries unsuccessfully to overcome, counterposing it with the values of civilisation and culture.

The Hamas monster was deliberately nurtured by the policies of the Israeli state and planned with the support of its intelligence services. In a country without walls, without absolute ‘apartheid’ and without the pervasive, internal, mutual and state hatred that became the norm, no Hamas would be possible.

The Hamas movement is a black mirror of modern Israeli society that no bombing can break. To achieve peace in the Middle East and save all children, Palestinian and Jewish, it is enough to look into it with some honesty.
