These are two of the brightest minds of our time in life. Both historians, with a particularly optimistic but also subversive perspective, have written books that became best-sellers overnight and are translated into many languages. The Dutch Rutger Bregman and the Israeli Yuval Noah Harari were guests of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s Yalta European Strategy (YES) initiative, with the aim of, as Victor Pinchak himself opened the discussion, to make the intellectual opening of the year. The discussion was held in English.

In a panel that addresses all of today’s challenges, Bregman and Harari present their views on tackling the pandemic, cooperation, climate change, technological surveillance systems, artificial intelligence, the uniqueness of the human species and the future, answering uninterruptedly for an hour and a half to the questions of the British’s editor-in-chief of the Economist, Zanny Minton Beddoes.

The discussion was held in English. The Greek bureau of the international news agency Pressenza, collaborated with the Victor Pinchuk Foundation to provide the Greek subtitles.
