Bringing together 12 elected representatives from 11 countries and 5 continents, a 3 day gathering of the World Coordination Team (WCT) of World without Wars and Violence (WwWaV) will take place in Madrid, Spain from the 10th to the 12th of March 2011.
In a moment of global optimism following the non-violent revolution that swept through Tunisia and then Egypt, World without Wars and Violence meets to consider the current global situation and to plan its strategy for the coming year.

The WCT elected in May 2010 has not yet had the opportunity to physically meet since then, so almost half way through their mandate they are convening in the Spanish capital to review the work done since the election and to outline a strategy of work that will carry them through until the next election in 2012.

International Spokesperson, Tony Robinson from Poland said about this meeting, *“This opportunity to meet is very important and very timely. We have been working for the last year with a fraction of our potential and now is the time to launch new, strong images towards the future which can inspire us and the new generations to greater action.”*

For World without Wars the last year has been a time of transition. Since the climax of the World March for Peace and Nonviolence in January 2010 the majority of base team members have been involved in the discipline works set out by Silo before his death in September.

*“For the last year the focus for many of our members has been on personal change and the development of a new inspired consciousness based on the truly profound experiences that everyone can access if they follow the paths of the four disciplines given by Silo. Now, though, the time has arrived to take the inspiration found in the profound depths of human consciousness and project it into the world around us,”* the spokesperson added.

Referring to the situation in Egypt he continued, *“Notwithstanding the wonderful transformations in a few countries of South America such as Bolivia and Ecuador, we have not been this inspired at events on a global scale since the fall of the Iron Curtain, although if our North African friends choose to model themselves on Western style ‘Democracy’ they will have lost a golden opportunity. The economic violence that the vast majority of people suffer around the world as a result of this Western style ‘Democracy’ and economic system must also be eradicated through a non-violent revolution. What is interesting is to see that the inspiration for our times is coming from Africa and South America! The Western World has absolutely lost its moral authority.”*

*“The future for Egypt and Tunisia is not certain. In Egypt the Army are in control and although the words spoken by them are encouraging and hopeful, Egyptians should not loose vigilance until a new constitution reflecting the true will of the Egyptian people has been adopted and free and fair elections take place under this new constitution.”*

The last day of the World without Wars gathering on Saturday the 12th of March will take place in the symbolic Park of Study and Reflection, Toledo. This will be an open meeting for all members of the organisation to hear what’s happening at the grassroots and to develop ideas for the future global activities that will be launched on that occasion.

*“We are very excited to be able to meet with everyone who can make it to Toledo, and for those who can’t, we will attempt to connect via streaming. We hope to launch a strong and exciting project for 2011 and beyond.”*
