The Charter makes a strong call for reflection, proposing steps towards the construction of a peaceful world without violence.

Costa Rica, which has not had an army since 1948, has been contributing to initiatives of peace over throughout the last 61 years. This Central American country is very highly regarded for having resolved the paradigm of investment in human development versus military spending; evident in the country’s social development and economic growth indexes which exceed that of other countries in the region.

Mr Rodrigo Carazo has, once again, been a protagonist in the process for creating Peace transforming conditions for Nonviolence, a model for Costa Rica and the world.
