This morning the leading members of the “High Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens of Israel” (an extra-parliamentary umbrella organization that represents Arab citizens in Israel at national level) were illegally arrested.

Since the beginning of the war in Gaza, Israel’s Parliament has banned all means of peaceful resistance. Repressive regulations were set on protests, limiting them to only 50 participants. The High Follow Up Committee has organised a silent assembly, abiding by the law, calling for an end to the war in Gaza and resisting the fascist regime in Israel. Despite all its efforts, today its organisers were detained. Many of them are former members of the Parliament and major leaders of the Palestinian struggle inside Israel. This is a critical stage of severe oppression, which must be noticed worldwide.

In Tel Aviv a group of activists has organized a protest in solidarity with them. The police arrested twenty people and seized signs, drums and megaphones.
