Writers from Rhymes of PEG and new members of the Concerned Artists of the Philippines, Bicol Chapter, will be conducting an online fundraising event for the affected barangays of Sorsogon caused by the eruption of the Bulusan Volcano. The said event will be held through Facebook Live on June 19, 2022 (Sunday) at 9 PM.

The Facebook live with the theme: “Live Poetry Reading: An Entertainment for a Cause” will be hosted by Bon Ramniel Morales and Danna Espocia Garbida together with Judy Lomerio Azul, Jerraine Ruth Jocutan, and Jhannah Paguyo.

Last June 5, 2022, Bulusan Volcano erupted wherein the entire town of Bulusan was affected and nearby municipalities including Irosin, Casiguran, and Magallanes. Following its June 5 phreatic eruption, Mount Bulusan continues to release steam, indicating persistent hydrothermal activity in the volcano.

Dios mabalos po!,”said Danna Garbida in mixed Tagalog and Sorsoganon. (I, together with writer-friends agreed to have a fund-raising as we wish to help the reidents affected by the eruption of the Bulusan Volcano…)

(You can be sure that what we collect in this fundraising will reach those who are in need of help. We hope that. even through simple means, we can do something in order to let others feel that the spirit of helping one another even if we don’t know each other personally is stll alive.)

(During the online event whhich we will hold, we hope to share our talents and to help. We hope you will be happy, be inspired and learn something with every piece we read. Eve just now, we thank those who are helping and who have been first to give help.)
