A new beacon to light up the Way of St. James
A new beacon will soon begin to light up the Way of St. James.

A beacon that already illuminates the heart of its promoters.

The project, launched by the Pilgrims of the Way Association “El Mensaje de Silo”, has landed with the purchase of the land where the Sala Compostela will be located.

Indeed, on April 12th, the purchase of the land on which the Sala Compostela will be built was signed before a notary.

The land is located at 4, Vilaseira Street, Negreira, A Coruña.

This is how the promoters of the project define their interest:

“For more than four thousand years pilgrims have been making the pilgrimage from the most remote places in Europe to Santiago de Compostela. “Compostela”: Field of Stars, where the stars fell, where every year 300,000 pilgrims now come from all regions of the planet.

On one of the branches of this path we want to materialise our Silo’s Message Hall. A place of inspiration, reparation, friendship and joy for the pilgrims; a place of irradiation of a new spirit”.

After the signing and the following day, in the place where the Hall will be erected, a ceremony of burning of Orders was held and in a joyful and festive atmosphere, food, good conversation and good feelings were shared.

This is the bright future that the promoters foresee:

“Now we enter the next phase.

On the one hand, preparing the house so that it can be lived in and used during the construction of the Hall.

On the other hand, we have to prepare the paperwork to apply for the building permit at the Town Hall. This will take between two and three months. It is a minor procedure given that we already have the approval of the Department of Heritage of the Region.

Simultaneously to this procedure, we will launch the second economic collection to raise the money for the construction of the Hall”.

“Our image is to start the construction of our Hall by the end of summer (August/September), with the image of opening next year.”

“This Beacon of Light in times of crisis, has a very great potential to radiate. About 50,000 pilgrims (some sources speak of 90,000) will pass in front of our Hall.

But also, on the roads that lead to Santiago (the French Way, the Portuguese Way and the English Way) we want to place our signs in different languages so that the pilgrims in search, those who carry failure in their hearts, will continue their journey to our Hall.

We are talking about 500,000 pilgrims seeing our signs every year”.

We join in these good wishes so that this new beacon will be built as soon as possible and will be able to illuminate, sooner rather than later, the hearts of so many pilgrims seeking the birth of the new spirituality.
