Call for artists to participate in the Art Symposium in Brandenburg in October 2019

On the occasion of the Day of Nonviolence, October 2, 2019, from October 1, 2019 to October 5, 2019, a symposium for artists on the subject of nonviolence will take place at the Humanist Park of Study and Reflection in Schlamau, Brandenburg, Germany.

The aim of this meeting of artists is to create free and site-specific works on the subject of nonviolence.

The works will be shown publicly in a joint exhibition on 5 October 2019.

The Studien und Reflexionspark (Park of Study and Reflection) is a beautifully situated meeting place for the worldwide network of the, humanistic movement. It consists of various buildings, a work centre, a study centre, an old barn and two workshops.

The exhibition is to take place predominantly outdoors, so that installations and sculptures can be realised in a particularly ideal way.
The workshops and the barn can also be used.

The call is an international one, and is open to artists who have completed their art studies at a university and/or have a meaningful exhibition qualification and are working to apply.

The artists will receive free food and lodging. Unfortunately, materials and travel costs cannot be covered.

A maximum of 15 artists can participate in the symposium. Applications must be submitted by 1 September.

The Studien und Reflexionspark Schlamau consists of several buildings and a very large outdoor area adjoining a forest. Directly next to the park is the fire pond of the village and a playground for children.

The artists will be accommodated in shared rooms, the comfort is comparable with a pretty, well-kept youth hostel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served.

Please send your application exclusively by e-mail to Juljaschneider@web.de– Please send a CV and PDF with examples of your work.
