We live in the midst of a violent system that privileges money over human beings. That concentrates power in a few hands, preventing equal opportunities for development. A system that promotes a cruel individualism, determined to suffocate any collective project.

Since November 2008, born originally to report on the World March for Peace and Nonviolence that travelled the world over 3 months, called by World without Wars and Violence, with the participation of over 2000 organisations and in open rebellion to the world situation, the international news agency Pressenza has been communicating alternatives and perspectives of transformation, raising the editorial flag of peace and Nonviolence and developing training programmes for journalists about reporting on Peace and Nonviolence.

In this tenth anniversary of its existence, this alternative source of information now present in more than 30 countries and publishing in 8 languages, completely run by volunteers and not accepting funding from governments or corporations in order to ensure its complete editorial independence, it calls to celebrate “surrounded by good friends, of companions who, like us, do not let themselves be dragged along by indolence or frustration”.
