On 7 June, 2015, a group of friends organized the first March for Sharing in Paris. The gathering was at 14 pm at Place de la Republique. The procession departed at 15 h 30. The emphasis was on the economy and society itself.

The intention was to raise awareness of everyone getting their fair share of global resources. This done in a fair and kindly way which will go a long way to resolve, according to the group, the crisis that the people on our planet are these days experiencing. The group challenged society to share and cooperate, promoting these actions as those showing the essential human quality expressing love and seeing the need for justice for all.

The activities started with a flashmob event where about twenty people walked into bus lanes along a major and central Paris street. Even with those few people, the act was seen by many passers by, pedestrians, cyclists, and passengers in cars and buses.

Some bystanders talked with the marchers and lots of smiles were exchanged, besides spontaneous dances and handshakes. Many people took photos and some even filmed. The marchers tried to end the walk with a popular assembly to talk about and provide solutions to the crisis. The work of meetings in small groups led to proposals of solutions, noting that a third of humanity is starving or undernourished … Solution included:

  • To realize that everyone needs to live fairly;
  • Become aware of all the food wasted and other waste;
  • Focus needs to be on short and direct actions;
  • Learn to recognize the other in its humanity and its needs.

The activity brought out ideas on sharing, as the following:

  • Sharing, this is genuine distribution of resources;
  • Sharing leads to right relations among mankind;
  • When sharing, we express our humanity;
  • If one has an apple, cut it in half and we become happy;
  • Sharing enables everyone to live decently;
  • Sharing is exchanging positive energies for a better world, joyfully and in peace;
  • Seeing the other as a brother or sister;
  • The redistribution of global resources is not for a few but for all, sharing is love, sharing is life itself.

The sense of sharing must be a priority quality to be acquired by each individuals so none of us lacks the essentials to live well and fairly;

  • Sharing is being in empathy with others;
  • Sharing is love in action;
  • Sharing is courage;
  • Sharing is helping the undocumented;
  • It’s sharing to give a kind look, good ideas;
  • Sharing is give and take, win-win, unity;
  • Share is thinking to the others, of the hungry, of the thirsty;
  • Share is living nicely with each other;
  • Sharing allows a fair redistribution of wealth;
  • Sharing leads to justice, leads to peace, and therefore, to a happy humanity;
  • Sharing is an electric scooter for all;
  • Sharing with his/her neighbors;
  • Sharing, this is the genuine distribution of resources;
  • Sharing a kiss and a look.

At the end of the entire activity, at City Hall about 18:30 pm, several people encouraged the participants to organize another march. The hope was to have people create networks between people of different backgrounds.
