Lately the talking points for sending unlimited military aid to Ukraine, sorry for sending “defensive weapons” to Ukraine (what are defensive weapons, rockets and tanks that only point in one direction?), has been because they are needed to “protect Ukraine against rebel attacks”.

Sorry, it was not the separatists who launched the fratricidal war in Ukraine, it was Kiev who attacked Donbass with heavy weapons, calling it an “anti-terrorist operation”. You don’t negotiate with terrorists, you attack them. In the case, the “terrorists” were the more than 5 million people of Donbass.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces has relentlessly shelled and terrorized the people of Donbass; Kiev did not live up to the Minsk agreements because it did not withdraw its heavy artillery to the agreed upon points, where it could no longer continue the shelling. The bombardments have greatly increased recently, to the great misery, death, and destruction of the people there.
It is the height of cynicism and hypocrisy for US leaders to demand more weapons be sent to Ukraine, to protect against “rebel attacks”. The utter failure of US corporate media to even note this cynicism shows the degree to which our “news” here has become disinformation used to support warmongering by the neocons who are running US policy.
