These are times of evaluation and proposals: it seems that human beings have a need for these parties, rituals and reflections.

For those of us in Pressenza it has been, without a shadow of doubt, a year of great advances and learning, the development of version 2.0 of the website, the migration to more stable servers, greater insertion in social networks, the encounter with new associates, environments, readers and collaborators who have come to contribute their enthusiasm for our journalism in five languages.  It has also been a time to position ourselves regarding world events, publishing opinions and compiling the best columns of 16 Spanish native speaking authors in a book that was presented in the International Book Fair in Santiago, Chile and in the Senate of Argentina during the III Symposium of the World Centre of Humanist Studies.  The book entitled, “Humanist Perspectives at the Crossroads of Today’s World” which has now sold out, is freely available on line in pdf format on our Spanish language home page.

The 2012 we are leaving behind has left a sense of urgency regarding the work that we’ve been doing, because the symptoms of the very real and global crisis of this system have become increasingly evident, the processes of change in Latin America leave her more vulnerable, and new voices need more space and only a journalistic craft which is decoupled from economic manipulation and instead at the service of people can respond; a kind of journalism capable of inspiring the paths of the builders of the new world that is beginning to show itself, sheltering the hope of a better future.

For this we are counting on all of you, and you can count on the certainty that we will be here: on the frontline of change, in the joyful vanguard of peace and nonviolence, occupying this world with new ideas, in the forefront of the new times and in the fraternity of revolution.

For all of you so that this intention may unfold, a big hug of peace, force and joy.
