#Occupy is spreading. The Arab Spring occupied squares, the same happened in Spain and the “Indignados” (the outraged) followed the model of nonviolence for Real Democracy, which in turn spread to other European countries and beyond. Now that it has reached Wall Street and a few Hollywood stars have visited them it is getting into the Big Media. The model is maturing, showing that there are lots of people prepared to challenge the system and its dehumanising destruction of anything that can cover people’s basic needs: health, education, housing, welfare and employment.

[UK Uncut](http://www.ukuncut.org.uk), the network that has been denouncing big corporations for dodging taxes whilst everything is being cut “for lack of money”, decided to occupy Westminster Bridge, next to the Houses of Parliament, to demand that the House of Lords stop the Bill when it gets discussed next Tuesday. Numerous health organisations have already described the proposed legislation as a disaster for the health of the population, justified only by the desire to hand over control of the system to the private sector, replicating the horror of the US model.

A report of the day’s protest can be seen in [Chanel 4 News](http://www.channel4.com/news/health-reform-protesters-block-westminster-bridge). The demonstrators also carried out an Assembly and will join the #Occupy protests planned for Oct 15th in the London financial district.

The city of Manchester also saw the beginning of the #Occupy action in Albert Square after the Conservative Party Conference, moving to a Peace Garden in the Town Centre after negotiations with the Police.
