KLM and RNW respond to Egypt unrest

29.01.2011 - El Cairo - Radio Netherlands

KLM says its daily flights to and from Egypt now cannot leave or arrive between 18:00 and 07:00 local time. Other airlines have also changed their timetables. British Airways and Lufthansa each scrapped a flight on Saturday.

Radio Netherlands will increase its Arabic broadcasts using satellites that are not controlled by the Egyptian authorities. Its journalists are also producing text-television which can be received through satellite. The programmes which can be downloaded through satellites are also broadcast on local FM stations.
