The vision of the Aruko Wakía Cultural Group is to transmit messages of universal convergence on diversity and tolerance among peoples through music. To reconnect our ancestral memory with our Planet Earth in order to spark an awareness of respect for all life forms, promoting peace and the planet’s spiritual progress.

“I want to join the March so I can be the voice of those who, for some reason, have no opportunity to express themselves and to raise awareness of the fact that peace lies within us” says one of the members of Aruko Wakía in the video statement for the World March for Peace and Nonviolence.

The Aruko Wakía Cultural Group from Costa Rica lends its unconditional support to peace-group activities and the Humanist Movement in Central-American countries.

“I believe in music, I believe in art as a medium for us to unite and march through all these countries for the sake of ending all these wars and all this pain” said another member.

“With the help of coordinators in the region, we want to bring our music and our art to Central America. We already have the gracious support of our brothers and sisters in Mexico, El Salvador and Guatemala, and we anticipate further support. Our goal is to make a voluntarily contribution through cultural and artistic activities in different countries by accompanying the main group.”

Some of the group’s activities include: Tribal ethnic music, fire dance, juggling, theatre, music workshops, mask making, and others.

In her statement the activist added: “I hope that the March will bring together a lot of people with the same feelings, the same intentions, and that we will see a change or at least do some good in the world.” She also added that the best way to confront violence is through peace.
