On Monday 14th September, an exhibition of paintings from Argentine artist Irene Montemurro Salcedo opened in the Hispanic-Central American centre, Madrid.

The artist, settled in Spain for decades, continues studying and investigating, as on this occasion, the female body. Montemurro supports the search for liberty in women through vitally nonviolent experience and she portrays this in her work.

This exhibition is dedicated to the World March for Peace and Nonviolence in which the artist actively participates. Irene Montemurro is one of the thousands of conscientious people who are involved in the March’s objectives, being an active participant devoting, on the one hand, the present exhibition of her creative activity and, on the other, her attendence at the gathering in the Andes in January 2010.
