A recent study by students shows that most of the infrastructure at Dhaka University encompassing the Arts Building, FBS building, social science building, Mokarram Bhaban, the administrative building, and all residential dorms except recent ones do not offer any accessibility to physically handicapped people.

Albeit that the Rights and Protection Act for Disabled People 2013 clearly accounts the rights of disable people to be ensured, however, there is little implementation of the Act to ensure accessibility in all academic institutions.

Following the human-chain, a team met the Vice Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique of the university and handed over a memorandum. He lauded the initiative undertaken by the students of Development Studies and promised the students to establish ramps in all buildings at the university.

Students of Development Studies firmly believe that by ensuring the accessibility of physically handicapped people in academic institutions will foster integrated national development.
