President Donald Trump warned on Friday that limited strikes against Iran are possible even as the country’s top diplomat said Tehran expects to have a proposed deal ready in the next few days following nuclear talks with the United States.

Earlier Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a TV interview that his country was planning to finalize a draft deal in “the next two to three days” to send to Washington.

Both Iran and the U.S. have signalled that they are prepared for war if talks on Tehran’s nuclear program fizzle out.

“We are prepared for diplomacy, and we are prepared for negotiation as much as we are prepared for war,” Araghchi said Friday. Globe. (Globe and Mail)

Meanwhile, the Iranian population continues to live under the rule of the Mullahs. Every day, regime dissident are injured, killed and imprisoned. Today in Montreal, Iranians mobilized and demonstrated downtown in support of the popular dissent in Iran. They were calling for regime change. Several protesters chanted slogans in support of Reza Pahlavi, the son of the former Shan.

Iranian and freedom of choice

The Iranian people are caught in the geopolitical game played by major powers: on one side, Washington and Western countries desires regime change; on the other, China and Russia support the current regime despite the violent repression of recent months. However, it seems that the message from Iranians people is clear: they want to be able to choose their living conditions. They seem to be telling us that they are fed up with this conflict between their living conditions and the conditions imposed by the geopolitical games—a conflict that breeds discrimination, poverty, violence and the probability of a war in a few days.

To overcome this conflict any changes in the regime or in the establishment of a new regime must be founded on human dignity. This is the only way for Iranian people to exercise their freedom of choice and be fully free from the decades of repression.
