Learn to love the reality you built.  Learn to recognize the sacred within you and around you. Learn to treat others the way you want to be treated. (Silo, Teachings 2025)

The connection between the human beings and the stars started with the prehistoric man who made methodical observations of the night sky. From their observations, our ancestors developed celestial navigation and the making of calendars. Per say, the lunar cycles were the key to fertility. The Venus of Laussel, from 22,000 to 27,000 years ago demonstrates lunar cycles and the sacred register(1) of human fertility.

The Lascaux cave paintings, from 17,000 years ago, show many lunar and seasonal symbols. It is quite possible that our ancestors were amazed by the beauty of celestial manifestations and developed this phenomenal ability to transfer their mental images, large dancing animals into the skies, on material grounds in the depths of caves to preserve their amazing memories for millennia for future human beings to discover.

Astronomy, the observation of the stars, is one of the oldest natural sciences. Through astronomy the Egyptians, Babylonians, Greeks, Eurasian, Persians, Indians, Chinese, the American indigenous People, the Mayan, African Kingdoms and other civilizations  developed their technologies, religions, beliefs and civilisations.

Around 135 BC, Hipparchus compiled one of the first star charts. Since the dawn of humanity, humans have turned to the stars to find the connection with the sacred register.

In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage. (Matthew 2:1–12)

Today, stars are found on many flags. The Brazilian flag has 27 stars that represent the members of the Federation, but they actually map the sky in the Southern Hemisphere. The Australian and New Zealand flags feature the brightest stars in the Southern Cross constellation. The Nunavut flag features the North Star, Niqirtsuitup, a symbol for the Inuit of the wisdom of the Elders.

While on the flag of Alaska we find the Big Dipper which symbolizes the strength of the animal and the North Star which represents the future so hoped for by the population of this territory. There are 20 African countries with star symbols on their national flags.

Flags feature the sun for many people and Nations :

Kiribati: The national flag includes a sun rising over the horizon.  Argentina: The flag has a sun symbol.  Japan: The flag features a sun. Nepal: The flag includes a sun.

Thanks to observations of the earth’s rotation our ancestors developed the solar clock. Today each time we look at the clock on our mobile phones, we turn ourselves towards the sun.

Thanks to the domestication of wheat, the development of irrigation systems, the heat of the sun and the observation of the seasonal cycle our ancestors were able to develop agriculture. Each time we eat a piece of bread, we consume a little bit of the sun, but we lose our taste for the sun’s energy and turn towards fossil fuel.

If ships are able to travel with thousands of containers and navigate on the oceans for thousands of kilometers to distribute goods to people around the world it’s thanks to the observation of our ancestors of the position of the Earth in reference to several stars in the sky.

In the modern world we lose these fundamental connections with the sun and the stars.

Modern lifestyle is not yet suitable for daily experience of this protagonistic connection that has enabled the evolution of our entire species and human consciousness (2).

In the investigation Mesopotamian Origins and the material discipline, author Danny Zucherbrot focuses on the period of time stretching from the end of the Paleolithic through the Bronze Age to uncover the relationships between technological advances and a concomitant system of images. This imagery is intimately connected with the complex of ideas, techniques and dreams. This imagery forms part of a system of translations that continues from pre-history up to the present day and was developed in many ways thanks to the connection of the human beings with the stars.

Today scientists and engineers from different civilizations are working on the project of reaching the planet Mars within the next few years. These projects are possible thanks to the system of mental imagery with this complex of ideas, techniques coming from the Western world and contribution of many cultures.

Thanks to the aspirations and discoveries of various men throughout history (Galileo, Newton, Einstein, Hubble, and many more) men plan to walk on Mars within a few years.

Let us recall an important quote from Newton in one of those rare moments of humility:

If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Through the project of humanizing Mars, engineers and scientists clearly affirmed the intentionality of consciousness (3) by amplifying human freedom of action in other worlds. They are dedicated to human intentionality, which definitively in this project, transcends the individual human being.

The project of humanizing Mars doesn’t belong to one company nor one country. It belongs to humanity as a whole. I believe it gives us the opportunity to better understand the meaning of being human and this urgent need to grasp the intentionality of consciousness and the historical process that is currently underway.

Husserl pointed out that we do not see the world from the outside but always from the center of our own mental space (see space of representation). However, we see the others from the outside, thus we use a different point of view to see ourselves and the others.

In the Western world we were trained to perceive the Euro-American vision of the world as the center of humankind and his activities.

Since the discovery of America, for the past five centuries, the world has been dominated by  Euro-American ideas, lifestyles, technologies, economical and financial systèm, representations and beliefs. Thus, the entire planet has been Euro-Americanized; if we look at the governance structures of countries, the way we frame the day and the end of the year, the system of weights and measures, and lifestyles of people around the world and these are only a few examples.

But in recent years, people in the Western world started to understand that the world no longer revolves only around one vision but multiple visions.

Before the expansion of Europe into the Americas, China and India were economic powers. Currently, these civilizations are reclaiming their place in the world. In fact, these civilizations do not want to annihilate the West. Rather, they are currently experiencing a renaissance. Recently in the SCO Summit, Xi Jinping, the Chinese president speaks of a renaissance of Chinese civilization.

Civilizations are complex and sophisticated sociohistorical organizations formed of various cultures, technologies, traditions and languages. Today many theorists argue that the entire world has already become integrated into a single global system. But in recent years geopolitical among cultures and civilizations generated wars, genocide, terrorism and the degradation of multilateralism between Nations States. All these phenomena indicate we enter into an historical process of polarization among civilization and cultures.

From the point of view of historians, civilizations are traditionally understood as ending in one of two ways; either through incorporation into another civilization and expanding in a new one (as Ancient Egypt was incorporated into Hellenistic Greek, and subsequently by the Roman civilizations), or by collapsing and reverting to a basic form of living, as it happens during the Dark Ages in Europe.

As the world becomes global, some power groups may try tentatively to incorporate the world’s civilizations into one civilization. But surely this attempt will generate chaos, wars and destruction of humanity.

In fact, the idea of incorporating one civilization into another another civilization involves the annihilation of several attributes of the civilization that is being assimilated by another

To pursue their own evolution the world civilizations and cultures need to incorporate into a global whole which does not cause prejudice of their identity, their diversity of expression through art, techniques, religions or atheists, traditions and their style of governance.

The project of humanizing Mars allows planetary civilizations to converge towards a global whole as a Universal human nation. The Universal human nation opens the way to a multi-planetary species.

In fact, the CEO of SpaceX Elon Musk frequently mentions that he is working with his project towards a multiplanet species.

I believe this is the right perspective. But the project must be framed in the context of humanity’s greatest threat which is the polarization of world civilization and cultures.  Americans, Chinese, Indians, Europeans and Russians must cooperate together and undertake this gigantic project

Based on the cooperation between people from different civilizations and cultures, humanizing Mars will allow the initiation of a discussion to resolve the serious problems on Earth—climate change, genocides, wars, and terrorism—that currently endanger humanity. We do not need to elaborate further to demonstrate that the current world has sufficient technological conditions to resolve within the next five years the problems affecting vast regions of the world. But if nothing is currently being done, it is because the human being is not the central value in any civilization. Human beings are rather perceived as things.  In fact, human beings are perceived as an accessory serving money, the state, science, an ideology or some god.

From its origin, the Universal human nation must be founded on the best aspirations of Earth civilizations. The central concern must be given to the human being, the evolution of human consciousness, and not to money, prestige, science, a god, or a state.

The Universal human nation should be launched toward the future with the best aspirations and knowledge, it is what gives coherence to life and gives a framework for the future multi-planetary species.

I believe the recognition of the vital and psychological usefulness of all human beings will finally allow the intentionality of consciousness to express itself in the world and amplify the space of representation (4) of humankind.

The human species is fantastic, and when it places its intention in the direction of increasing freedom and good knowledge, it does extraordinary things and transforms the world and transforms its own nature l

Sacred register: intuition of the Sacred, of the irreplaceable, grows and extends to different areas until it manages to orient life (Sacred in oneself) and actions in life (Sacred outside oneself)

Consciousness: we call consciousness the recording made by the apparatus that coordinates and structures, working with sensations, images and memories

Space of representation is a kind of mental screen where images, formed from sensory stimuli, memory stimuli and the activity of consciousness, are projected. In addition to serving as a screen, it is formed from all the internal representations of the cenesthetic sense. The space of representation has markers, a volume and a depth which make it possible to situate, depending on the location of the image, whether the phenomena come from the internal or external world

Intentionality of consciousness: fundamental mechanism of consciousness, by means of which it maintains its structurality, by linking acts to objects. This connection is not permanent and is what allows the dynamics of consciousness, given that acts are in search of objects. This intentionality, always launched towards the future, is registered as a tension of search, even when it works by returning to past events (intentionality-evocation).
