The Epstein Files and Russiagate
The rest of the second half of July’s Western mainstream news cycle will, understandably, be dominated by details relating to Donald Trump’s attempt to suppress information related to the “Epstein Files”. A story that will receive less coverage, although it is equally incriminating, is US Intel Director Tulsi Gabbard’s release of classified documents from 2016 showing that former President Barack Obama, CIA Director John Brennan and FBI Director James Comey, among others, intentionally suppressed committee findings and data illustrating the fact that “foreign adversaries did not use cyberattacks on election infrastructure to alter the US Presidential election outcome”.(1)
It turns out also, according to these newly released documents, that Obama and Brennan disallowed the proliferation of a plethora of other intel that made clear the fact that no aspect of supposed Russian meddling had any significant impact on any part of the 2016 election, including what later came to be known as the “Steel dossier” material. In other words, the four-plus years of anti-Russian propaganda, the “Russiagate” news sensation that was instrumental in creating the groundwork for the current phase of the Russia-Ukraine war which has taken the lives of nearly 2 Million Ukrainian and Russian soldiers, was a knowingly fabricated deception by the Obama administration. Also, the Obama administration’s accusations that Russia interfered in the election on behalf of Trump were not only baseless, they run contrary to Intel findings from 2016 that indicate that Russia was unconcerned with the possibility that Hillary Clinton might win the election.

MAGA, Hope, Change and Transparency
Both Barack Obama and Donald Trump entered and ran in their respective presidential races on the central promise that they would either counter-balance and/or overturn Washington’s war-centered, spending obsessed neoconservative agenda. Obama and Trump both played on the “hopes” of middle class Americans, promising “transparency” and “change” that would “make America great again”.
Obama’s Duplicity
In Obama’s case, deception was at play from the beginning of his first term in office, in that he was heavily financially backed and consequently beholden to Wall Street and the neocon war machine from the outset of his 8 years in office. In fact, Obama’s dedication to the neoconservative war plan (the US entered 8 of the 17 wars it has participated in in the 21st century during Obama’s 2 terms in office) was nearly unwavering throughout his 2 terms.(3) By appointing known war-hawks like John Brennan as CIA director and Victoria Nuland as Assistant Secretary of State/Head of European Affairs, Obama, who is known throughout the Middle Eastern world now as “The Butcher of Libya”, ensured the continuation of the Wolfowitz-Cheney-Rumsfeld plan to bring multiple wars to the Middle East and to perpetuate the Cold War era demonization of Russia, which was a tactic that Donald Rumsfeld insisted on throughout his tenure in government.(4),(4a)
Trump’s Duplicity
In Trump’s case, although he promised an end to perpetual wars and government overspending, within his first five months in office Trump has presided over the completely unprovoked bombing of Iran, using the Bush Jr. era’s classic “Weapons of Mass Destruction” mantra as his excuse. Trump is also the first president to get a Trillion Dollar defense spending budget passed after declaring several times that he was considering “cutting the defense budget in half” when he was running for office.(5) Also, Donald Trump is now actively suppressing information related to the Jeffrey Epstein case that involves the sexual abuse of hundreds of non-adults/children. His suppression of the Epstein files follows upon 3 years of promises by his administration and Trump himself that the Epstein documents would be released when he was elected president in 2025.
The Two-Sided Coin
We’re at a point now as a country, as a culture, where we simply can’t afford to keep making the same key mistake we’ve been making for decades. The interlocking American (and European) electoral and financial systems, which are directly linked with the Western military industrial complex and the privately owned “mainstream” Western media are, as of the 21st century (arguably longer), interconnectedly woven together in a manner that extracts wealth and power from the general population so that an extremely small minority of multi-Billionaires can continually augment their profit margins and their influence. In other words, if you’re relying on politicians from either of the currently established Republican or Democrat parties to enact serious change that will help you and your family you’re kidding yourself. Seriously, I feel I have to convey this directly here: At this juncture, you’re a fool if you don’t see that the system is rigged and that both sides of the donor-owned American political coin (the American Uniparty) are worthless as far as helping the American public is concerned. You’re operating in ignorance if you’re still playing the “team red” – “team blue” game at this point.
The way out of this situation will be via our coming together, not via our continually butting heads with each other over what are ultimately secondary issues in comparison with avoiding an unnecessary world/nuclear war. The truth of the matter is, all four 21st century presidents belong in jail. Unfortunately, another aspect of the rigged system is that the wealthy and the power-holding do not get punished for crimes that result in the deaths of millions people or that involve the sexual abuse of hundreds of children or that entail the use of political privileges to absolve one’s family members of responsibility for crimes that would have landed you and I in jail for life if we had committed them.
