Pressenza International Press Agency, in collaboration with the International Center for the Multigenerational Legacies of Trauma, will host an online workshop titled “The Responsibility of Our Time: Becoming Good Ancestors for Future Generations” on February 15 at 3:00 PM (ET).
The workshop will explore how current political and security decisions—particularly those related to nuclear weapons and regional conflicts—shape the lives and possibilities of future generations, and how young people are actively engaging to transform their own futures.
The event will feature presentations by Youssef Mahmoud, former United Nations official and Senior Adviser Emeritus at the International Peace Institute; Mariana Fernández of the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, who will address the work of the Middle East Treaty Organization (METO); and David Andersson, editor with Pressenza and coordinator of the Davids Campaign: A Global Call for Nonviolent Renewal in the Middle East.
The workshop will be moderated by Jeremy Maletzky, a New Jersey high school honors student, highlighting the central role of youth voices in shaping future-oriented global discussions.
Participants will take part in two breakout sessions: one dedicated to drafting a short declaration to be read by young participants at the forthcoming NPT Review Conference at the United Nations in May 2026, and another focused on advancing the implementation of the International Forum on Peace and Nonviolence in the Middle East, also planned for May 2026.
The event is part of the ongoing Davids Campaign, which seeks to foster nonviolent, intergenerational approaches to peace, security, and global responsibility.
