A delegation of the Humanist Movement of Kenya has conveyed deep sympathy and solidarity to the Venezuelan Embassy in Nairobi regarding the tragic events in Venezuela on 3 February 2026, condemning the attack and expressing condolences to the families of the victims.
The Humanists’ message underscored the intrinsic value of human life and rejected all forms of violence, while urging peaceful solutions and respect for sovereignty.
The venezuelan representation in Kenya, accredited also to several neighbouring states, is headed by Ambassador Moravia Peralta Hernández, who presented her credentials to the President of Kenya in December 2024, marking a renewed phase of diplomatic engagement.
The embassy actively promotes Venezuela’s interests, bilateral cooperation, cultural exchange, and dialogue. Ambassador Peralta Hernández has worked to strengthen ties, engaging with Kenyan authorities on cooperation in tourism, education, and multilateral initiatives, promoting deeper diplomatic and parliamentary collaboration.
The Humanist Movement’s communication reflects shared concerns about violence and external interference, emphasising support for peaceful dialogue and the aspirations of the Venezuelan people, while expressing respect for international law and human dignity.
This was the text of the speech read and presented by Tracey Kadada, and handed over to the venezuelan Embassy.
Ms. Moravia Peralta Hernández
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of Kenya
International House, Parklands/Highridge,
Nairobi, Kenya
“Dear Ambassador,
We, the Humanists of Kenya, express our sincere condolences for those who lost their lives during the United States attack on Venezuela on 3 February.
The bombing and subsequent kidnapping of constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros and First Lady Cilia Flores constitutes a criminal act that deserves our complete rejection as well as the broadest condemnation from the international community.
For Humanists, there is no higher value than human life, and no cause can be justified if it threatens it. There is no future for anyone through violence.
We are aware that this attack is not only against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela but against all causes in the Global South that are justly working for the emancipation of peoples from the pretensions of imperialist domination.
We extend our solidarity to the families of the fallen, and we hope they find peace in their hearts despite the tremendous pain caused by the loss of their loved ones.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish Acting President Delcy Rodríguez Gómez every success in maintaining peace and continuing the course set by the Bolivarian Revolution, while demanding that the Government of the United States of America immediately release President Nicolás Maduro Moros and First Lady Cilia Flores and allow them to return to Venezuela.
We hope that the Venezuelan people will find a way to facilitate dialogue to resolve their differences peacefully without any external interference.
We send you our fraternal greetings,
Humanist Movement of Kenya
Nairobi, Kenya, 10 January 2026″
Afterwards, the Humanist team, together with other organisations of like-minded, did a peaceful March to demand the release of President Nicolas Maduro and the first lady Cilia Flores, which ended with the American embassy sending police to stop it.
Despite it, the demonstrators continued with their peaceful and solidarity action, “We still demand the release of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and the First Lady Cilia Flores”, told the activists to this redaction.
