Bangladesh celebrated its Great Victory Day this year through extraordinary festivities and joy . On the 54th anniversary of victory, the key highlights included the addition of the Bengali language to the global news service of the international press agency- Pressenza, alongside the Bangladesh Armed Forces’ spectacular fly-past, aerobatic displays, and a historic world-record-breaking para-jumping event.
The Bengali language has been added to the global news services of the international press agency, Pressenza. Bengali has been launched as the 11th language in this news service, joining other international languages. This addition on December 16, Great Victory Day, has become a moment of immense joy for Bengali speakers worldwide. It marks the beginning of a new horizon in international news and the exchange of views. The inclusion of Bengali in this international media outlet, which has long advocated for peace, disarmament, human rights, and non-violence, is regarded as a significant and timely initiative.

News, analysis, and opinions published by Pressenza in various world languages have already gained international acclaim. With the launch of operations in Bengali, the Bengali-speaking populations in Bangladesh, West Bengal, Tripura, and across the globe now have the opportunity to connect directly with an international humanitarian perspective.
Media professionals in Dhaka believe that through this initiative, it will be possible to highlight international politics, global situations, humanitarian crises, peace initiatives, and alternative viewpoints more extensively in Bengali. It is expected that the promotion of global humanitarian thought in Bengali will be strengthened across newspapers, online platforms, and social media.
According to media analysts, the introduction of Bengali in Pressenza is not merely a linguistic expansion; rather, it marks the start of a new chapter in the commitment to building a conscious, humane, and global society.
The integration of the Bengali language into Pressenza’s news service on the 54th anniversary of Bangladesh’s victory is a simultaneous glorious achievement. Furthermore, amidst the joyous celebrations of Victory Day, 54 Bangladeshi paratroopers set another exceptional world record by participating in a mass para-jump. This event has secured a place in the Guinness World Records.
On the occasion of Victory Day on December 16, the Bangladesh Armed Forces organized a spectacular fly-past, para-jumping, and special aerobatic display. To further enhance the glory of Victory Day, the event was held at the National Parade Square in Tejgaon, Dhaka, under the supervision of the Armed Forces with the support of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
Marking the 54th anniversary of Victory, a total of 54 paratroopers- including Chowdhury Ashikur Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and 53 members of the Armed Forces- descended from the sky to the ground through ‘free-fall jumps’ while carrying the national flag of Bangladesh.
In this celebratory moment of Victory Day, the prestigious addition of the Bengali language to the international arena, combined with the achievement of a world record, has become a unique milestone and a matter of immense pride for Bengalis and Bengali speakers everywhere.
