Veterans For Peace condemns Israel’s naval interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza, an illegal act of piracy in international waters. We further condemn the criminal kidnapping of hundreds of humanitarian activists from 44 countries, including U.S. veterans. We join with people all over the world who are protesting against Israel’s unrelenting genocide in Gaza, with scores of Palestinians killed every single day, and children and babies being starved to death.
Israeli Occupation Force hijacked the Flotilla and took hundreds prisoner
We demand freedom for all the volunteers whom Israel has illegally abducted. We require that desperately-needed food and humanitarian aid be allowed to flow into Gaza. We demand an end to Israel’s occupation of Palestine and genocide in Gaza. We reject the fraudulent “peace plan” of Trump and Netanyahu, a recipe for further colonial domination of Palestine. We demand an end to U.S. and Israeli planning for wars against Iran and Venezuela
We call on all people of goodwill – people who want their children and grandchildren to live in a just and peaceful world – to come together and take a stand against the genocide in Gaza, against imperialist wars, and against creeping fascism at home, with racist ICE attacks on our neighbors, and troops illegally occupying our cities.
We celebrate the courageous Flotilla volunteers, including U.S. veterans. You make us proud and you inspire us to do more.
Message from VFP member Phil Tottenham on the Veterans’ Boat:
“I know you’ll have our backs. I trust you each individually and as a collective, knowing you know it’s time to step up our game. We’ve served and fought for the empire. It’s time we each sacrifice more for humanity – for the innocent lives murdered and to lessen those going forward. All my love.” — Phil Tottenham
All Out for Saturday, October 4 – Rise Up For Gaza!
Veterans For Peace calls on our members, friends and allies to turn out in numbers for nationally-coordinated protests this Saturday, October 4, in many U.S. cities. We call on people to protest every day in every way until all the Flotilla volunteers are free, until there is a free flow of massive aid to Gaza, and until the US/Israeli genocide is ended. Demand that the U.S. government tells Israel to release the Flotilla crew. All eyes on the flotilla. All eyes on Gaza. Follow @globalsumudflotilla for the latest updates in real time.
Free VFP Member Zahid Chuadhry from ICE Detention
We call for the freedom of disabled veteran Zahid Chaudhry, president of the Rachel Corrie Veterans For Peace chapter in Olympia, Washington. Zahid, originally from Pakistan and married to a U.S. citizen with two young children, was kidnapped by ICE on August 21 at his Citizenship hearing, and sits in his wheelchair in an ICE prison while fighting against his deportation.
