1) Every Neocon in Washington (both political parties and the upper echelon of the US military are dominated by the war-for-profit Neocon oligarch faction) is drooling with gleeful anticipation. There has been an outbreak of war between Israel and Iran that will quite likely result in the US’ formally entering the conflict. If so, it’ll be the fulfillment of a well documented “7 Wars in 5 Years in the Middle East” plan.(1) This war will do nothing but accelerate the already in process decline of US hegemony. It’ll also speed up the collapse and eventual destruction of Israel as a state.
2) As far as their uranium enrichment situation is concerned, Iran has complied with all internationally acknowledged laws. The people who are saying they haven’t complied with the laws are lying and everyone in the world with eyes that haven’t been polluted by 20 years of US Neocon propaganda can see it. Israel’s recent, unprovoked attack on Iran, which was carried out with US weapons and heavy assistance from US intelligence, will make the WMD/Iraq debacle of 2 decades ago look like an afternoon picnic if the US formally enters the conflict. Keep in mind also that this recent attack by Israel was in the works for at least a year before it finally happened the other day.(2)
*None of this absolves President Trump, who has been lying to Iran and to the rest of the world from day one of his presidency. There was never a real peace objective with Iran. All of the talk about peace by the US was, it seems, a ploy and a prelude to the recent Israeli-US’ “decapitation strike” attack. This operation was in the works for well over a year, spanning time within both the Biden and Trump presidencies.
With this strike and Trump’s sadistic follow-up to it indicate, paraphrasing: “Do what I say or we’ll kill all of you.”, is that the US/Trump knew about the strike all along, Trump has revealed, clearly, that he is aligned now with the very neocon faction that has consistently thwarted and condemned him at every turn for years. He’s now openly confessed that all of his middle east peace talk has been a ruse.
Of course Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the opposite of what Trump said, asserting that the US had nothing to do with the strike. All of this has brought US diplomatic credibility to as low a level as it has ever sunk. If one thing has become completely clear, it’s that the US cannot be trusted under any circumstances. Not by its enemies, not by its allies and not by its inhabitants, its public.
3) If this happens, if the US officially enters the war, absolutely nothing good will come of it for 90 to 99% of the US population. The war will do immense physical, economic and spiritual harm to everyone in its path except for an extremely small group of oligarchs (and their political house lap dogs) who will make exorbitant profits from the mass destruction and deaths of potentially millions of people.(4)
4) Russia and China are allied with Iran. If the US formally enters a war with Iran there will be a strong risk of a World War breaking out that will end in one of 4 ways: A- The US, Israel and their allies will be handily defeated by a much more competent, way better armed set of opponents who will vastly outnumber and outgun their deeply mistaken Western foes. B- A nuclear war will ensue and the vast majority of the world’s population will be destroyed. C- Both of the above. D- None of the above will happen, due to the manifestation of the unlikely possibility that the US will refrain from directly entering the war and some sort of deal (heaven knows what that deal would be) will be worked out with Iran.
