From 7-10 November 2021, as world leaders gather to debate our future, the COP26 Coalition will host the People’s Summit for Climate Justice.

Decisions made at COP26 will determine how governments respond (or not) to the climate crisis. But justice will not be handed to us by world leaders or corporations. Only we can imagine and build a future that works for all of us. The solutions we need already exist and are being practised, but governments lack the political will to act. Indigenous and frontline communities have known the solutions for centuries.

From 7-10 November, we are organising the Peoples’ Summit as an alternative to the false solutions and inaction in the COP negotiations. The People’s Summit is a global convergence space for movements, campaigns and civil society, from indigenous struggles to trade unions, from racial justice groups to young strikers. Join us to imagine our future, combine our knowledge and build the climate justice movement from the ground up.

We will discuss the injustices we face today; imagine the future we want to build and strategise how to get there.

THE MULTIPLE CRISES: The intersecting injustices we face today.

VISIONS FOR THE FUTURE: The world we want to build.

STRATEGIES AND TACTICS: How to create the change we need

THE WORLD BEYOND HUMAN: Transforming our relationships

We have gathered hundreds of proposals for interactive workshops, roundtables, strategy sessions, arts and cultural events, constituency assemblies and much more.
