The group of courageous nonviolent activists who have been walking in recent days through wind, rain, and hail has set off again from Santiago de Compostela, a symbolic place that epitomizes all the pilgrimages that have marked European history.

As the participants emphasize, the Peace Walk to Jerusalem is not only a demonstration for peace and nonviolence, denouncing the terrible situation of genocide still being experienced in Palestine and to work towards dignity for all people living between the river and the sea, but also a spiritual pilgrimage where walkers ask themselves questions about the meaning of life and how to bring nonviolence into their daily lives.

Walking and living together is not easy and it is not peaceful but, on the contrary, it brings to the surface the contradictions and violence that each of us carries within us, and it is wonderful to be able to face them together on a journey that goes beyond simply walking together.
