Once again, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Dr. Francesca Albanese, is being attacked with false news and specious motives, this time by certain elements of the French pro-Zionist right.
Francesca Albanese is being accused, in a completely defamatory manner, of making outrageous statements against Israel as a people and as a nation.
In fact, Francesca Albanese has stated, in perfect consistency with what she has been saying for years, that “the fact that instead of stopping Israel, most of the world has armed it, provided it with political excuses, political cover, economic and financial support is a challenge. If international law has been struck at its heart, it is also true that never before has the global community been so aware of the challenges we all face. We who do not control large amounts of financial capital, algorithms, and weapons now see that as humanity we have a common enemy. The common enemy of humanity is the system that made the genocide in Palestine possible, including the financial capital that finances it, the algorithms that obscure it, and the weapons that make it possible.”
So the worst elements of the international right wing, serving financial capital, would like to silence Francesca Albanese because she courageously denounces the international system of complicity that is allowing the genocide of the Palestinian people. But Francesca Albanese cannot be silenced because she represents the moral, legal, and political conscience of the West and the whole world, which refuses to go down in history as an accomplice or cowardly spectator of a horrific crime.
We therefore express our total solidarity with Francesca Albanese, who must continue to carry out her irreplaceable and vitally important role undisturbed.
