Today, January 29th, the European peace walk “Peacewalk to Jerusalem” was presented to the press at the house of associations for peace and rights in Trieste “Danilo Dolci” .

Connect with the Peacewalk from Europe to Jerusalem (2026-2027) and help us make it happen! Participate for a day, a week, a month, or the entire walk…

This is the motto of the event, which will begin on January 31, 2026, in Finisterre (Spain) where Ruzanna Sukiasyan from Trieste will be present, together with Ànibal Rodriguez, Rikko Voorberg, and other activists; she will invite people to walk from city to city until they reach Al-Quds (the holy city in Arabic) or Yerushalayim (the city of peace in Hebrew).

Thus began the construction of the Peacewalk to Jerusalem in the European Alps-Adriatic region, which will lead us this summer from Ljubljana to Trieste, Koper, Rijeka, and Sarajevo, where walkers from all over Europe will converge.

On Saturday, January 31st, at 9:45 a.m., we will meet in Sežana at Danilo Dolci’s House, opposite the train station. From there, we will walk toward Orlek, crossing the border and the highway. After a stop at the Shooting Range/Peace Park, we will arrive at Prosvetni Dom in Opicina at 12:30 p.m., hosted by the Tabor Cultural Center. There, we will meet a delegation of Peace Walkers from Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina, connect with activists departing from Finisterra, and participate in a musical program.

Today’s press conference was attended by Dunja Sošič of the Tabor Association, Davide Bertok of World Without Wars and Violence, Luciano Ferluga of the Danilo Dolci Peace, Coexistence and Solidarity Committee, cultural workers Patrizia Rigoni and Patrizia Dimora, and, on video, Anna Perlini of the “For a Better World” association from Rijeka (Croatia), and Eva Marn of “Ne v mojem imenu!” from Ljubljana (Slovenia).
