Vendi a \u00faltima para um colecionador que mora em Paris\u201d, conta. \u201cQuero come\u00e7ar uma nova pesquisa com o v\u00f4o dos cubinhos\u201d, avisa, aludindo a uma marca de seu trabalho. Os poucos produtos que n\u00e3o vieram da China foram constru\u00eddos pelo pr\u00f3prio artista, que aprendeu t\u00e9cnicas como a de usar o bambu, buscou aplicar o racioc\u00ednio chin\u00eas na montagem dos elementos que sustentam os cubos que voam, e estudou caligrafia \u201cpara entender como a pincelada \u00e9 dada e como s\u00e3o constru\u00eddas as palavras\u201d em mandarim. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-US\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\">As notas chinesas, aut\u00eanticas, \u201czero quil\u00f4metro\u201d e com certificado de garantia, foram adquiridas em lojas de numism\u00e1tica. Da mesma forma, pelos fundamentos do Feng Shui, t\u00e9cnicas de harmoniza\u00e7\u00e3o energ\u00e9tica de um ambiente, \u201cn\u00e3o se usaria o preto, que, no entanto, \u00e9 uma cor adequada para o teatro\u201d. \u201cFiz uma caixa c\u00eanica onde o preto tem a fun\u00e7\u00e3o de <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\"><b>desaparecer<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\">\u201d, comenta. Ela \u00e9 coautora de um dos trabalhos: s\u00e3o discos, feitos de caixa de papel\u00e3o pintadas de preto, a mesmacor usada na parede, onde ela desenhou <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\"><b>bordos dourados<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\"> como se fossem a lou\u00e7a chinesa. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-US\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\">O material usado para construir a caixa onde os treze cubos est\u00e3o voando \u201cfoi estrategicamente pensado: \u00e9 o eucalipto, introduzido na China no s\u00e9culo 19, e que por destruir as esp\u00e9cies nativas virou uma praga pra eles, e est\u00e1 sendo erradicado, com seu plantio proibido\u201d, explica Franklin Cassaro. Ele observa que \u201cpor uma incr\u00edvel coincid\u00eancia os chineses est\u00e3o adquirindo propriedades no Brasil para a aquisi\u00e7\u00e3o de eucalipto, que est\u00e1 sendo direcionado para a China por ser uma \u00e1rvore boa para a extra\u00e7\u00e3o da celulose\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-US\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\">Franklin Cassaro diz que este trabalho \u00e9 \u201co in\u00edcio de um projeto, ligando a China ao Brasil\u201d. Ele quer discutir este temor \u00e0 China, \u201co fantasma chin\u00eas, como o imperialismo chin\u00eas, o comunismo, fantasmas que afligem aqueles que n\u00e3o entendem as coisas e t\u00eam fantasias\u201d. \u201cPensei em exagerar este medo, esta xenofobia, esta <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\"><i>sinofobia<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\">\u201d, diz. \u201cN\u00e3o que o trabalho seja uma <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\"><i>sinofilia<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\">, mas trata de n\u00e3o ter medo de fantasmas, daquilo que pode atrair eventualmente m\u00e1 ou boa sorte\u201d, afirma. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-US\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\"><b>SOBRE O ARTISTA<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-US\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span lang=\"pt-BR\">Franklin Cassaro nasceu em 5 de mar\u00e7o de 1962, no Rio de Janeiro, onde vive e trabalha. Cassaro cria objetos vivos, que se modificam e est\u00e3o em constante evolu\u00e7\u00e3o. Elementos como o ar e o vento s\u00e3o fundamentais em muitos de seus trabalhos. As performances do artista surgem como atos escult\u00f3ricos. Sua obra possui muita influ\u00eancia de Lygia Clark. Fez exposi\u00e7\u00f5es individuais no MAM Rio, em 2001, na Galeria C\u00e2ndido Portinari, em 1999, no Museu da Rep\u00fablica, em 1995, e no IBEU de Copacabana, em 1991, todas no Rio de Janeiro. Participou da Frieze Art Fair, de Londres, em 2006, da Art 35 Basel, em 2004, da Art Basel Miami Beach e da Art 34 Basel, em 2003. Em 2000, integrou a VII Bienal de Havana, a ARCO \u2013 Feira Internacional de Arte Contempor\u00e2nea, em Madri, e a Artissima, de Turin, na It\u00e1lia.
