Ici, les lignes du champ magn\u00e9tique terrestre canalisent le vent solaire vers le bas, concentrant son \u00e9nergie avant de l&rsquo;injecter dans l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re terrestre, o\u00f9 il se m\u00e9lange et entre en collision avec des particules d&rsquo;origine terrestre.<\/p>\n<p>Non seulement les vaisseaux spatiaux se comportent de fa\u00e7on impr\u00e9visible pr\u00e8s des cornets, aussi le signal GPS se comporte de fa\u00e7on impr\u00e9visible, ce qui brouille et expose la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du transport utilis\u00e9 par ce programme et l&#8217;emp\u00eache d&rsquo;atteindre ses destinations. Moen, qui dirige la mission de recherche sur les irr\u00e9gularit\u00e9s des cornets ou ICI-5, compare la turbulence avec les tourbillons qui se forment lorsque les rivi\u00e8res tournent autour des rochers. Lorsque l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re devient turbulente, les signaux GPS et de communication qui la traversent peuvent devenir d\u00e9routants et envoyer des signaux peu fiables aux avions et aux navires qui en d\u00e9pendent.<\/p>\n<p>Le chercheur esp\u00e8re effectuer les premi\u00e8res mesures pour distinguer la vraie turbulence des ondes \u00e9lectriques qui peuvent aussi interrompre les signaux de communication. Bien que les deux processus aient des effets similaires sur le GPS, il est essentiel de d\u00e9terminer les causes de ces perturbations pour les pr\u00e9voir.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0La motivation est d&rsquo;augmenter l&rsquo;int\u00e9grit\u00e9 des signaux GPS, mais nous avons besoin de conna\u00eetre le conducteur pour pr\u00e9dire quand et o\u00f9 ces perturbations se produiront \u00bb, dit-il.<\/p>\n<p>La NASA pr\u00e9voit dans un proche avenir de d\u00e9ployer la mission CHI Recherche du r\u00e9chauffement des cornets, et la mission CREX-2 l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience r\u00e9gionale des cornets-2.<\/p>\n<p>Les donn\u00e9es recueillies par ces missions aideront les scientifiques \u00e0 pr\u00e9dire le comportement du champ magn\u00e9tique dans une zone donn\u00e9e pour \u00e9viter d&rsquo;endommager la technique.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La NASA a organis\u00e9 trois missions spatiales pour \u00e9tudier le champ magn\u00e9tique terrestre, en particulier sur les cornets polaires de notre plan\u00e8te.
