Certains seront peut-\u00eatre d\u00e9\u00e7us, car le Festival de Cannes 2025 n&rsquo;aura pas compt\u00e9 beaucoup de titres laissant pr\u00e9sager de belles recettes, mais on se souviendra du courage d&rsquo;avoir su aller \u00e0 contre-courant du vent actuel. Une \u00e9dition riche en \u0153uvres sur les th\u00e8mes de la paix, des droits civiques, de la diversit\u00e9, de l&rsquo;antiracisme, en faveur de la libert\u00e9 : des principes sur lesquels reposent cette d\u00e9mocratie et cette coexistence sans effusion de sang que ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es semblent avoir remis en question.<\/p>\n<p>Le jury, pr\u00e9sid\u00e9 par Juliette Binoche, actrice connue pour son engagement politique et social, notamment dans le cadre du mouvement #MeToo et pour la promotion d\u2019une plus grande attention aux droits humains, et qui a d\u00e9fendu \u00e0 plusieurs reprises les \u00ab sans-papiers \u00bb, ces immigrants sans papiers luttant pour leur r\u00e9gularisation, et compos\u00e9 de Halle Berry, Payal Kapadia, Alba Rohrwacher, Le\u00efla Slimani, Dieudo Hamadi, Hong Sangsoo, Carlos Reygadas et Jeremy Strong, a d\u00e9cern\u00e9 la Palme d&rsquo;or \u00e0 l&rsquo;Iranien Jafar Panahi pour \u00ab Ce n&rsquo;\u00e9tait qu&rsquo;un accident \u00bb. Le film raconte l&rsquo;histoire d&rsquo;un certain Vahid qui croit avoir identifi\u00e9 quelqu&rsquo;un gr\u00e2ce au grincement d&rsquo;une proth\u00e8se et soup\u00e7onne qu\u2019il est le tueur \u00e0 gages du r\u00e9gime iranien qui l&rsquo;a tortur\u00e9. Mais comment savoir s&rsquo;il est r\u00e9ellement responsable de tant de souffrances ? Le Festival d\u00e9crit \u00ab Ce n&rsquo;\u00e9tait qu&rsquo;un accident \u00bb comme un portrait du \u00ab peuple iranien qui lutte pour sa libert\u00e9 \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Jafar Panahi avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 remport\u00e9 la plus haute distinction, outre \u00e0 Cannes, \u00e0 Venise, Berlin et Locarno. Il ne s&rsquo;agit donc pas seulement d&rsquo;une r\u00e9compense politique, mais de la reconnaissance d&rsquo;un r\u00e9alisateur qui a su exprimer par l&rsquo;art un contenu \u00e9thique universel. Panahi est le cin\u00e9aste le plus pers\u00e9cut\u00e9 par le r\u00e9gime de T\u00e9h\u00e9ran. D\u00e9tenu jusqu&rsquo;en f\u00e9vrier 2022, il a vu son interdiction de quitter l&rsquo;Iran, en vigueur depuis 14 ans, lev\u00e9e en avril 2023. Son passeport lui avait \u00e9t\u00e9 confisqu\u00e9 en 2010. Apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9but des manifestations du Mouvement vert en 2009 contre la r\u00e9\u00e9lection du pr\u00e9sident Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Panahi a \u00e9t\u00e9 condamn\u00e9 \u00e0 six ans de prison pour \u00ab propagande contre le r\u00e9gime \u00bb en raison de son soutien au mouvement de protestation et \u00e0 une interdiction de produire des films pendant 20 ans. On esp\u00e8re que le soutien de Cannes lui sera utile quand il sera de retour dans son pays.<\/p>\n<p>Les th\u00e9matiques du cin\u00e9ma africain m\u00e9ritent un int\u00e9r\u00eat particulier. La section \u00ab Un certain regard \u00bb a \u00e9t\u00e9 inaugur\u00e9e par \u00ab Promis le ciel \u00bb de la r\u00e9alisatrice tunisienne Erige Sehiri, qui raconte l&rsquo;exil tunisien de trois femmes d&rsquo;Afrique subsaharienne. Lorsqu&rsquo;elles accueillent Kenza, une fillette de 4 ans rescap\u00e9e d&rsquo;un naufrage, les tensions internes explosent tandis que le climat ext\u00e9rieur devient inqui\u00e9tant. Les personnages sont inspir\u00e9s de femmes que la r\u00e9alisatrice a connues ; l&rsquo;une d&rsquo;elles, D\u00e9bora Lobe Naney, elle la rencontr\u00e9e alors qu&rsquo;elle souhaitait rejoindre l&rsquo;Europe. La Tunisie est racont\u00e9e du point de vue des protagonistes, marginalis\u00e9s et exclus.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab A\u00efcha ne peut pas s&rsquo;envoler \u00bb est le premier film remarquable de l&rsquo;\u00c9gyptien Morad Mostafa. Il relate les \u00e9preuves d&rsquo;A\u00efcha, une aide-soignante africaine de 26 ans immigr\u00e9e au Caire. \u00c0 travers ses journ\u00e9es, le film explore la dynamique d&rsquo;une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 o\u00f9 l&rsquo;indiff\u00e9rence des autorit\u00e9s et les tensions entre \u00c9gyptiens et Africains de diverses nationalit\u00e9s ont permis \u00e0 la p\u00e8gre de prendre le dessus.<\/p>\n<p>Il convient d&rsquo;ajouter un mot sur \u00ab Fuori \u00bb de Mario Martone, une biographie de l&rsquo;\u00e9crivaine Goliarda Sapienza durant son exp\u00e9rience carc\u00e9rale. Ce film n&rsquo;a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 prim\u00e9 et n&rsquo;a pas convaincu la presse \u00e9trang\u00e8re, peut-\u00eatre aussi parce que le personnage, red\u00e9couvert en Italie apr\u00e8s sa mort, n&rsquo;est pas tr\u00e8s connu \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tranger, mais il n&rsquo;en demeure pas moins un film d&rsquo;une grande importance humaine et d&rsquo;un grand talent
