Une entreprise d\u00e9tient la recette : Nestl\u00e9, multinationale bas\u00e9e en Suisse, leader mondial de l\u2019agroalimentaire, gr\u00e2ce notamment au commerce de l\u2019eau en bouteille, dont elle poss\u00e8de plus de 70 marques partout dans le monde (Perrier, San Pellegrino, Vittel ou Poland Spring aux \u00c9tats-Unis). Pour le pr\u00e9sident du CA, Peter Brabeck, l\u2019eau, fer de lance d\u2019une strat\u00e9gie plan\u00e9taire, peut \u201cgarantir encore cent quarante ans de vie\u201d \u00e0 l\u2019entreprise. Malgr\u00e9 le refus de collaborer oppos\u00e9 par la direction, Res Gehriger et Urs Schnell d\u00e9voilent les coulisses de ce march\u00e9 qui brasse des milliards. Des \u00c9tats-Unis au Nigeria en passant par le Pakistan, ils explorent les circuits de l\u2019eau en bouteille, mettant en lumi\u00e8re les m\u00e9thodes parfois exp\u00e9ditives du plus puissant groupe agroalimentaire de la plan\u00e8te. Ils montrent qu\u2019elles reposent sur une question cruciale, objet dans nombre de pays d\u2019un vide juridique dont les avocats et lobbyistes de la firme savent tirer profit : \u00e0 qui appartient l\u2019eau ?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bien public, gains priv\u00e9s<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 Fryeburg, dans le Maine, un tribunal a autoris\u00e9 Nestl\u00e9 \u00e0 ouvrir une deuxi\u00e8me station de pompage, alors que les habitants s\u2019\u00e9taient mobilis\u00e9s pour tenter d\u2019emp\u00eacher ce qu\u2019ils consid\u00e8rent comme un pillage de leurs ressources collectives. Dans la premi\u00e8re, install\u00e9e sur un terrain priv\u00e9, la multinationale paye dix dollars au propri\u00e9taire pour 30 000 litres d\u2019eau\u2026 Mais si, aux \u00c9tats-Unis, le groupe s\u2019efforce de se concilier les populations en se montrant \u201cbon voisin\u201d (quitte \u00e0 leur offrir en bouteilles l\u2019eau qui coule de leurs robinets !), il ne prend pas les m\u00eames gants avec les villageois d\u00e9munis du Pakistan. Ceux qui, dans la r\u00e9gion de Lahore, ont demand\u00e9 par p\u00e9tition \u00e0 pouvoir b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier de l\u2019eau pomp\u00e9e sur leur nappe phr\u00e9atique par l\u2019usine Pure Life, filiale de Nestl\u00e9, n\u2019ont pas eu de r\u00e9ponse.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le sillage de Res Gehriger, pr\u00e9sent \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran, cette enqu\u00eate minutieuse aux images soign\u00e9es donne la parole \u00e0 de tr\u00e8s nombreux protagonistes sur trois continents, usagers ou militants, adversaires et partisans de Nestl\u00e9.
