D\u00e9n\u00e9 d\u00e9nonce l’excision au Mali<\/p><\/div>\n

Mercredi dernier, en C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, neuf femmes se sont vues condamn\u00e9es pour excision. Nous pouvons lire dans la revue de presse \u00ab\u00a0Afreek news\u00a0\u00bb cette nouvelle salu\u00e9e par les nombreuses associations de d\u00e9fense des droits de femmes, dont le Collectif li\u00e9geois contre les Mutilations G\u00e9nitales F\u00e9minines, qui nous a transmis l’information.<\/em><\/p>\n

C\u00f4te d’Ivoire – Paris salue le premier jugement condamnant l’excision 20 Juillet 2012 – 12:34<\/p>\n

La France a salu\u00e9 vendredi le premier jugement en C\u00f4t\u00e9 d’Ivoire condamnant les crimes de mutilations g\u00e9nitales f\u00e9minines, prononc\u00e9 mercredi \u00e0 Katiola (nord), comme \u00ab\u00a0un pas important dans la lutte contre ces pratiques odieuses\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0La poursuite effective des auteurs de ces crimes est un \u00e9l\u00e9ment indispensable de toute politique visant \u00e0 lutter contre ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le porte-parole du minist\u00e8re fran\u00e7ais des Affaires \u00e9trang\u00e8res, Bernard Valero, devant la presse.<\/p>\n

Neuf femmes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 condamn\u00e9es mercredi \u00e0 Katiola (400 km au nord d’Abidjan), \u00e0 un an d’emprisonnement et 50.000 FCA (75 euros) d’amende pour l’excision d’une trentaine de fillettes en f\u00e9vrier.<\/p>\n

Il s’agissait du premier proc\u00e8s d’exciseuses dans le pays, un \u00e9v\u00e9nement salu\u00e9 par l’ONU.<\/p>\n

Les neuf femmes condamn\u00e9es ne seront toutefois pas incarc\u00e9r\u00e9es, en raison de leur \u00e2ge, selon le Fonds des Nations unies pour la population (UNFPA).<\/p>\n

Esp\u00e9rons que cette condamnation encourage l’arr\u00eat de pratiques traditionnelles d’un autre \u00e2ge.<\/p>\n
