{"id":757129,"date":"2018-11-18T01:39:31","date_gmt":"2018-11-18T01:39:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pressenza.com\/?p=757129"},"modified":"2018-11-18T01:39:31","modified_gmt":"2018-11-18T01:39:31","slug":"la-nasa-registra-una-explosion-magnetica-en-la-atmosfera-de-la-tierra-como-nunca-se-habia-visto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pressenza.com\/es\/2018\/11\/la-nasa-registra-una-explosion-magnetica-en-la-atmosfera-de-la-tierra-como-nunca-se-habia-visto\/","title":{"rendered":"La NASA registra una explosi\u00f3n magn\u00e9tica en la atm\u00f3sfera de la Tierra como nunca se hab\u00eda visto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Las nuevas observaciones revelan flujos suaves de chorros de electrones de alta energ\u00eda que se mueven a una velocidad de m\u00e1s de 15.000 kil\u00f3metros por segundo.<\/p>\n<p>La Misi\u00f3n Multiescala Magnetosf\u00e9rica (MMS, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), un proyecto espacial formado por 4 sat\u00e9lites que fueron lanzados por la\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/actualidad.rt.com\/actualidad\/168806-nasa-estados-unidos-espacio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NASA<\/a>\u00a0en 2015, ha detectado una explosi\u00f3n magn\u00e9tica en el lado nocturno de la Tierra, lo que permitir\u00e1 entender mejor el fen\u00f3meno de la reconexi\u00f3n magn\u00e9tica, seg\u00fan se desprende de un art\u00edculo publicado este jueves en la revista\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/science.sciencemag.org\/content\/early\/2018\/11\/14\/science.aat2998\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Science<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>La misi\u00f3n tuvo la oportunidad de obtener im\u00e1genes en alta resoluci\u00f3n del lado nocturno de nuestro planeta, una perspectiva novedosa que proporciona a la NASA informaci\u00f3n sobre el\u00a0funcionamiento de la reconexi\u00f3n magn\u00e9tica, \u00abun proceso de conversi\u00f3n de energ\u00eda que ocurre en muchos contextos astrof\u00edsicos [en todo el universo], incluida la magnetosfera de la Tierra\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Se trata de la primera vez que los cient\u00edficos consiguen observar este fen\u00f3meno gracias a una\u00a0corriente de part\u00edculas alineada sim\u00e9tricamente en forma de cola que, seg\u00fan explica el portal\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/nasa-gets-a-close-look-at-a-magnetic-explosion-high-up-in-the-night-sky\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Science Alert<\/a>, es una \u00abversi\u00f3n m\u00e1s tranquila\u00bb de la ca\u00f3tica actividad que se registra en el lado solar de la magnetosfera terrestre. \u00abCuanto m\u00e1s sepamos acerca de estas reconexiones, m\u00e1s podremos\u00a0prepararnos para los eventos externos\u00a0que son posibles a partir [de este fen\u00f3meno] alrededor de la Tierra o en cualquier punto del Universo\u00bb, dijo Roy Torbert, investigador principal adjunto de la MMS.<\/p>\n<p>Los cient\u00edficos, que ya hab\u00edan mapeado en octubre de 2015 los detalles de este fen\u00f3meno en esta parte de nuestra atm\u00f3sfera, ahora lo han podido ver, con forma de cometa, en el lado oscuro de la Tierra, lo que les proporciona una visi\u00f3n nueva del mismo, pues revela flujos suaves de chorros de electrones de alta energ\u00eda que se mueven a una velocidad de m\u00e1s de 15.000 kil\u00f3metros por segundo.<\/p>\n<p>La superficie de la Tierra se encuentra protegida de la lluvia constante de electrones y protones de alta velocidad que se desprenden del Sol por medio de \u00abun\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/actualidad.rt.com\/actualidad\/271160-descubren-escudo-protege-tierra-viento\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">paraguas magn\u00e9tico<\/a>\u00ab, cuyo \u00abtejido se retuerce y ondula con energ\u00eda a medida que arrastra las part\u00edculas a lo largo de los canales en bucle\u00bb y, finalmente, regresa al espacio, recuerda Science Alert.
