Ante este importante acontecimiento, la NASA <a href=\"https:\/\/science.nasa.gov\/solar-system\/skywatching\/how-is-the-2024-total-solar-eclipse-different-than-the-2017-eclipse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">explica<\/a> los detalles\u00a0de por qu\u00e9 este <strong>fen\u00f3meno astron\u00f3mico ser\u00e1 importante<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Una trayectoria m\u00e1s ancha<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>La agencia espacial estadounidense menciona que la Luna estaba m\u00e1s alejada de nuestro planeta cuando ocurri\u00f3 el eclipse\u00a0de agosto del 2017, lo que provoc\u00f3 que su trayectoria, <a href=\"https:\/\/science.nasa.gov\/eclipses\/future-eclipses\/eclipse-2024\/where-when\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">conocida<\/a>\u00a0como el <strong>&#8216;camino de la totalidad&#8217;<\/strong>, fuera un poco m\u00e1s delgada (entre 100 y 114 kil\u00f3metros de ancho). En cambio, para el pr\u00f3ximo eclipse, se tiene previsto que su trayectoria\u00a0tenga\u00a0entre <strong>174 y 196 kil\u00f3metros de ancho<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>M\u00e1s gente podr\u00e1 ver el eclipse<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El recorrido del eclipse del 8 de abril comenzar\u00e1 en el Pac\u00edfico sur y terminar\u00e1 en la costa de la isla canadiense de Terranova. En las regiones cercanas a la trayectoria se experimentar\u00e1 un eclipse parcial, lo que significa que el sat\u00e9lite natural de nuestro planeta oscurecer\u00e1 una parte de nuestra estrella.<\/p>\n<p>La NASA detalla que la trayectoria del pr\u00f3ximo eclipse pasar\u00e1 por\u00a0<strong>m\u00e1s ciudades y zonas densamente pobladas<\/strong> que la del eclipse de hace 7 a\u00f1os, por lo que m\u00e1s personas podr\u00e1n ver el fen\u00f3meno. Seg\u00fan estimaciones, 31,6 millones de personas viven en el camino de la totalidad del eclipse de este a\u00f1o, en comparaci\u00f3n con los 12 millones del 2017.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>El eclipse tendr\u00e1 una mayor duraci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Por otro lado, la agencia comenta que, en este eclipse solar total, la sombra de la Luna sobre la superficie terrestre tendr\u00e1 una duraci\u00f3n aproximada de <strong>4\u00a0minutos y 27 segundos<\/strong> en un \u00e1rea ubicada a 25 minutos al noroeste de la ciudad mexicana de Torre\u00f3n. Asimismo, precis\u00f3 que cuando contin\u00fae su recorrido sobre Texas, dicha sombra durar\u00e1 aproximadamente <strong>4\u00a0minutos y 26 segundos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando la trayectoria comience en Canad\u00e1, la sombra durar\u00e1 <strong>3 minutos y 21 segundos<\/strong>. \u00abDurante cualquier eclipse solar total, la totalidad dura m\u00e1s cerca del centro del camino, a lo ancho, y disminuye hacia el borde\u00bb, sostiene la NASA.<\/p>\n<h3>Una mayor actividad solar<\/h3>\n<p>Otro gran cambio entre el eclipse del 2017 y el de\u00a0ma\u00f1ana es la actividad magn\u00e9tica del Sol. El\u00a0astro tiene su propio ciclo, denominado <strong>&#8216;ciclo solar&#8217;<\/strong>, que dura unos 11 a\u00f1os. Durante ese tiempo, su actividad magn\u00e9tica aumenta y disminuye. El eclipse del 2017 ocurri\u00f3 cerca del m\u00ednimo solar, una actividad magn\u00e9tica baja.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, la NASA predice que para\u00a0<strong>el pr\u00f3ximo eclipse habr\u00e1 m\u00e1ximo solar<\/strong>, lo que significa que existir\u00e1n m\u00e1s probabilidades de ver serpentinas en la corona solar, as\u00ed como protuberancias (rizos de color rosa brillante que salen del Sol). Al mismo tiempo, recalc\u00f3 que es posible que se pueda\u00a0visualizar una eyecci\u00f3n de masa coronal\u00a0durante\u00a0el eclipse.<\/p>\n<h3>Una amplia investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica<\/h3>\n<p>La agencia espacial\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/science-research\/heliophysics\/science-in-the-shadows-nasa-selects-5-experiments-for-2024-total-solar-eclipse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">precisa<\/a>\u00a0que financiar\u00e1 cinco proyectos durante el eclipse, con el prop\u00f3sito de estudiar nuestra estrella y la influencia de su actividad en la Tierra, mediante una variedad de instrumentos cient\u00edficos, incluidas c\u00e1maras a bordo del avi\u00f3n de gran altitud WB-57.
