El uso indiscriminado de agua en una actividad como la\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scidev.net\/america-latina\/agricultura\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">agricultura<\/a>\u00a0puede ejercer presi\u00f3n sobre la disponibilidad de agua para futuros cultivos, y en unos a\u00f1os la disminuci\u00f3n de la calidad del agua podr\u00eda incluso hacer que las actividades agr\u00edcolas sean inviables\u201d, dice a\u00a0<em>SciDev.Net<\/em>\u00a0Mark Mulligan, profesor del Departamento de Geograf\u00eda del King\u2019s College de Londres.<a 995px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mulligan es coautor de un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/02508060.2020.1779515?scroll=top&amp;needAccess=true\" rel=\"noopener\">estudio<\/a> sobre los efectos de covid-19 en la seguridad h\u00eddrica, donde se advierte que asignar m\u00e1s agua al sector agr\u00edcola afecta el suministro dom\u00e9stico de agua, en una competencia interna entre regiones urbanas y rurales dentro de los pa\u00edses y entre el norte y el sur global a nivel internacional.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn particular, los pa\u00edses con escasez de agua deben tener acceso al mercado mundial para mitigar su falta de agua local\u201d, se\u00f1alan los autores del estudio.<\/p>\n<p>Algunos alimentos y productos requieren mucha agua virtual para ser producidos, consumo que entra en la cuenta del pa\u00eds productor y se exporta al pa\u00eds comprador.<\/p>\n<p><a agua virtual de Brasil siempre es cara.<\/p>\n<p>En 2016, un\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/waterfootprint.org\/media\/downloads\/DaSilva-et-al-2016.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\">estudio<\/a>\u00a0estim\u00f3 que la exportaci\u00f3n bruta anual de agua virtual de Brasil era de 67,1 mil millones de metros c\u00fabicos (54,8 mil millones de metros c\u00fabicos netos) solo para productos agr\u00edcolas, regi\u00f3n del mundo se ha visto afectada de manera diferente, seg\u00fan las pol\u00edticas ejecutadas.<\/p>\n<p>Se\u00f1ala que los productos perecederos, como frutas, verduras y carnes, han sido impactados de forma distinta a los cereales y otros alimentos b\u00e1sicos por dos razones principales.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLa primera es que las pol\u00edticas de distanciamiento social han afectado los reg\u00edmenes de trabajo y se ha vuelto m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil cultivar alimentos y la segunda [son] las dificultades log\u00edsticas y de transporte de mercanc\u00edas por avi\u00f3n, especialmente
