Dezember unterzeichnete der sambische Pr\u00e4sident Hakainde Hachilema die \u00c4nderung 25 von 2022 des Strafgesetzbuchs und schaffte damit die Todesstrafe in dem afrikanischen Staat ab. Mit der gleichen Ma\u00dfnahme wurde auch der aus der Kolonialzeit stammende Straftatbestand der Verleumdung des Pr\u00e4sidenten aufgehoben.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In der Pressemitteilung, in der die beiden Beschl\u00fcsse angek\u00fcndigt wurden, erinnerte Pr\u00e4sident Hachilema an die Verpflichtung, die er zu Beginn seiner Amtszeit eingegangen war: archaische und undemokratische Gesetze zu \u00e4ndern oder ganz abzuschaffen, um Fortschritte auf dem Weg zur Demokratie zu erzielen.<\/p>\n<p>Sambia ist der 112. Staat, der die Todesstrafe vollst\u00e4ndig abgeschafft hat; 24 weitere Staaten wenden sie nicht mehr an.
