Dies stellt die Menschenrechtsorganisation der Vereinten Nationen in ihrem neuesten L\u00e4nderbericht zuhanden der Schweiz fest. Die Klimaerhitzung, zu der die Schweiz und besonders ihr Finanzplatz massiv beitragen, wird bis 2050 zu Dutzenden von Millionen unterern\u00e4hrter Kinder und schon bis 2030 zu \u00fcber Hunderttausend Todesf\u00e4llen von Kindern f\u00fchren.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Im Rahmen ihres neuesten L\u00e4nderberichts \u00fcber die Wahrung der Rechte der Kinder mahnt die UNO unter anderem die sch\u00e4dliche Klimawirkung des schweizerischen Finanzplatzes an. Die zust\u00e4ndige Kommission beklagt den unverh\u00e4ltnism\u00e4ssigen CO2-Fussabdruck insbesondere der \u00f6ffentlichen und privaten Investitionen in fossile Energien. Die dadurch verursachte Klimaerhitzung gef\u00e4hrdet gem\u00e4ss des neuesten Berichts die Gesundheit von Kindern weltweit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDie schweizerischen Banken, die Nationalbank und die Pensionskassen finanzieren nach wie vor die ungebremste \u00dcberflutung der Weltwirtschaft mit Kohle, Erd\u00f6l und Erdgas\u201d, sagt Christian L\u00fcthi, Gesch\u00e4ftsleiter der Klima-Allianz. \u201cDie UNO stellt eine kausale und juristisch bedeutsame Verbindung dieser Finanzfl\u00fcsse mit der Verletzung der Rechte von Kindern her. Damit betont sie die Mitschuld des schweizerischen Finanzplatzes an der zunehmenden Unterern\u00e4hrung und der steigenden Zahl an Todesf\u00e4llen von Kindern. Um diesen Umstand entgegenzuwirken, pr\u00fcft die Klima-Allianz Schweiz die Lancierung einer Volksinitiative f\u00fcr einen klimafreundlichen Finanzplatz\u201d, erkl\u00e4rt Christian L\u00fcthi weiter.<\/p>\n<p>Die Kommission zum Schutz der Rechte der Kinder bezeichnet die Klimaerhitzung als eine der dringlichsten und ernsthaftesten Bedrohungen f\u00fcr das Recht auf Leben heutiger und k\u00fcnftiger Generationen. So wird die Klimaerhitzung bis 2030 bei Kindern unter 15 Jahren 60\u2019000 bzw. 48\u2019000 zus\u00e4tzliche Todesf\u00e4lle durch Malaria und Durchfallerkrankungen verursachen. Zudem prognostiziert die UNO im L\u00e4nderbericht 95\u2019000 zus\u00e4tzliche Todesf\u00e4lle durch Unterern\u00e4hrung bei Kindern unter 5 Jahren bis 2030 und f\u00fcr 24 Millionen zus\u00e4tzliche unterern\u00e4hrte Kinder bis 2050.<\/p>\n<p><b>Hintergrundinformationen\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Klimaerhitzung und Rechte der Kinder<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/EN\/HRBodies\/CRC\/Pages\/CRC_GC26_concept_note.aspx\">UN Human Rights, Office of the High Commissioner, Committee on the Rights of Children, General comment on children\u2019s rights and the environment with a special focus on climate change<\/a>\u00a0(Ende September 2021):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Climate change will cause an additional 60,000 and 48,000 deaths from malaria and diarrhoeal disease respectively among children under 15 by 2030; it will be responsible for an additional 95,000 deaths from undernutrition in children aged under 5 by 2030 and an additional 24 million undernourished children by 2050.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\u2026 while all children are exceptionally vulnerable to climate change, children with disabilities, children on the move, children living in poverty, children separated from their families, and the youngest are most at risk. Climate change is also exacerbating the impacts of disasters as it increases the frequency and severity of weather and climate hazards. The scientific evidence has also pointed to increase in the frequency, magnitude and duration of extreme weather events, such as heat waves, drought and associated wildfires, heavy rain, and coastal flooding due to the increased greenhouse gases driving the climate change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finanzplatz und Klimawirkung auf Rechte der Kinder<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tbinternet.ohchr.org\/Treaties\/CRC\/Shared%20Documents\/CHE\/CRC_C_CHE_CO_5-6_46870_E.pdf\">UN Human Rights, Committee on the Rights of the Child, Concluding observations on the combined fifth and sixth periodic reports of Switzerland<\/a>\u00a0(Ende September 2021):<\/p>\n<p>Impact of climate change on the rights of the child<\/p>\n<ol start=\"37\">\n<li>The Committee is concerned about the\u00a0<b>disproportionately high carbon footprint\u00a0<\/b>of the State party,\u00a0<b>in particular through investments made in fossil fuels by its financial institutions<\/b>, and the negative impact of climate change and air pollution on children\u2019s health. \u2026 the Committee recommends that the State party:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>(a) Reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with the State party\u2019s\u00a0international commitments and ensure that the Federal Council strategy of net zero emissions by 2050 is implemented in accordance with the principles of the Convention;<\/p>\n<p>(b) Conduct an assessment of policies and practices related to the aviation and\u00a0transport sectors and the impacts of the resulting atmospheric pollution and greenhouse gas emissions on children\u2019s rights as a basis for designing a well-resourced strategy to remedy the situation including\u00a0<b>investments in carbon-neutral technologies<\/b>;<\/p>\n<p>(c)\u00a0<b>Ensure that private and publicly owned financial institutions take into\u00a0<\/b><b>consideration the implications of their investments upon climate change and the resulting harmful impacts on children<\/b>, including introducing regular monitoring and evaluation of financial institutions with regard to their investment activities and adopting binding rules for these institutions;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Der Finanzplatz Schweiz ist mit seinem \u00fcberm\u00e4ssigen CO2-Fussabdruck eine Bedrohung f\u00fcr die Rechte der Kinder, insbesondere im globalen S\u00fcden.
