1921-2021 Women\u2019s International League for Peace and Freedom. Then and NOW!<\/strong><\/p>\n

WILPF wurde im Jahr 1915, w\u00e4hrend des ersten Weltkrieges, von \u00fcber 1.100 Frauen* aus kriegsf\u00fchrenden sowie neutralen L\u00e4ndern bei einem Kongress in Den Haag gegr\u00fcndet. Sie diskutierten, wie der Krieg beendet und dauerhafter Friede gesichert werden k\u00f6nne. Doch der Kontinent wurde wenige Jahre sp\u00e4ter durch einen weiteren Weltkrieg und ein m\u00f6rderisches, kriegf\u00fchrendes nationalsozialistisches Regime, das f\u00fcr die Vernichtung von Millionen von Menschen verantwortlich war, nachhaltig ersch\u00fcttert.<\/p>\n

Die nationalsozialistische Macht\u00fcbernahme in \u00d6sterreich bedeutete f\u00fcr mehrere WILPF-Frauen* Flucht und Exil, die Organisation wurde aufgel\u00f6st. Der Versuch, die WILPF-Sektion in \u00d6sterreich nach 1945 wiederaufzubauen, gelang nicht nachhaltig.<\/p>\n

Im Jahr 2021, genau 100 Jahre sp\u00e4ter, haben rund ein Dutzend Frauen* an diese geschichtstr\u00e4chtige Vereinigung angekn\u00fcpft und eine WILPF-Austria Gruppe gegr\u00fcndet.<\/p>\n

Mit einem gro\u00dfen Festakt wird dies am 9. Juli im Wr. Musikverein, u.a. mit Marlene Streeruwitz, Maria R\u00f6sslhumer, Stefanie Dvorak und verschiedenen Politikerinnen gefeiert.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Der WILPF Frauenkongress 2021 ist einem besonderem Ereignis gewidmet: die \u201ezweite Geburtsstunde\u201c einer \u00f6sterreichischen Sektion der vermutlich \u00e4ltesten noch bestehenden internationalen Frauen*friedensorganisation, die Internationale Frauen*liga f\u00fcr Frieden und Freiheit (Women\u2019s International League for Peace and Freedom – WILPF<\/p>\n

Zu den zentralen Zielen von WPLF z\u00e4hlen die Verhinderung und Beendigung von Kriegen und bewaffneten Konflikten, Abr\u00fcstung und die Herstellung von nachhaltigem Frieden und Freiheit. Zur Sicherung von nachhaltigem Frieden braucht es eine aktive und gendergerechte multilaterale Sicherheits- und Friedenspolitik. Daf\u00fcr notwendig sind aber auch gesellschaftliche Voraussetzungen, wie beispielsweise Gleichstellung von Frauen* und M\u00e4nnern*, Demokratie und ein funktionierender Rechtsstaat, soziale und wirtschaftliche Gerechtigkeit, Klimagerechtigkeit, Bildung, nachhaltige Entwicklung sowie die Sicherung der Grund- und Menschenrechte f\u00fcr alle, einschlie\u00dflich f\u00fcr Migrant*innen und gefl\u00fcchtete Menschen.<\/p>\n
