POEM

The raindrops were shining like stars
On the grass.

Fallen from the sky
They lay quiet, evanescent.

There they were
Stars we don’t see during the day.

Unseen but ever-present
As I walk through the misty rain.

They remind me of the tears
Falling down your cheeks.

Tears of sadness
And tears of happiness.

As we walk through our days.

In the end, all fallen tears are good
For they, co-mingling, lead us far away.

Where the stars are ever-present.
