Bogota, Sep 20 (Prensa Latina) Legislators from different parties in Colombia demanded from the government the resources to implement the Peace Deal with the former FARC guerrilla group.

Brought together in the Senate Peace Commission, the congress people expressed their concern about the current reintegration of former guerrillas who, after the putting down of weapons, became militants of the legal political party Fuerza Alternativa Revolucionaria del Comun (Common Alternative Revolutionary Force) (FARC).

They particularly referred to the de-financing of the Territorial Training and Reintegration Spaces (ETCR).

Senator Temistocles Ortega, of Cambio Radical party, said that the Peace Agreement reached with the FARC is the country’s major fact in the last 100 years, so it should be supported by the Congress.

After a plenary session of its National Council early this month, the FARC expressed ‘enormous concern and real outrage at the low level of compliance (of the Agreement) by the State.’
