On the day celebrating the birth of Mahatma Gandhi, October 2, that has also been decreed as International Day of Non-Violence by the United Nations organisation, three agencies of the Humanist Movement in Mali, being – World Without Wars and Without Violence, the Community for Human Development, and the Humanist Party, held a press briefing in the morning at the headquarters of the Humanist Movement in Quinzabougou, Mali.

Moderated by Maikel Bathily, president of the association World Without Wars and Without Violence, also on the press panel were Mohamed Kaka, National Coordinator of the Community for Human Development, and Abdoulaye Konate, chairman, Humanist Party. The three members also play important roles internationally as representatives on the World Co-Ordination Teams of the respective agencies.

The press briefing was also used for exchanges of ideas and sharing of experiences between the Humanist Movement organizations and the Association of Journalists for Peace and Non-Violence.

After making statements telling of their various activities and sharing same, the Journalist Association for Peace and Non-Violence and the Humanist Movement organizations agreed to combine their efforts for the continuing promotion of peace and non-violence.
