Israelis participated in a peaceful march in Tel Aviv to show the Iranian people that their opinion does not match the policy of Benjamin Netanyahu’s Government, which does not tolerate Tehran’s nuclear programme.

The participants carried placards with the slogan: “Iranians, we will never bomb your country, we love you”. This message became famous thanks to a Facebook page created last week by a couple from Israel. In recent days more than 36,000 people joined the initiative. Dozens of Israelis have hung their photos and videos with peaceful messages that explain why they have no personal reasons to bomb Iran.

The recipients of the message were not left behind: an Iranian also opened a page with the same message in reverse, which has been joined by more than 9,000 people.

Israeli society is divided about a possible war with Tehran. According to a recent survey, 41% are in favour of attacking Iran, 39% opposed and 20% are undecided.

Tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv have been increasing due to disagreements over Iran’s nuclear programme. Israel, backed by many Western nations, accuses the Islamic Republic of trying to create nuclear weapons. Some politicians of the Jewish state even admit the possibility of carrying out an armed attack against Iran.
