Organizations and labor unions march to Brussels to protest against labor reform

Various organizations began a march on August the 14th campaigning against labor reform and in favor of social rights. The march will end in Brussels on September 27th, two days before the general strike which trade unions have organized in Spain. “A new model for the distribution of wealth and work” are part of the call of this European action.

Pressenza Madrid, 23/08/10 The activist group began its march in Zaragoza and will travel 1,700 kilometres through several European cities where they will incorporate new protesters to accompany the initial group in the various sections.

For this initiative, the organizers have issued a manifesto advocating a new model for "distribution of wealth, work and healthcare", and urge workers and the unemployed to "rise up against the pessimism which rains down up on us, against the dictatorship of the markets and the governments which serve it and against the logic of capital."

Groups participating in the march include the CGT (General Confederation of Labor), the Workers Trade Union Organization of Aragon (OSTA), Ecologists in Action, the IU (United Left), the Anti-capitalist Left, the Junta Aragonesista, and various Christian associations.
